• Read all the instructions carefully before using the unit and keep them for future reference.
• Retain the manual. If you pass the unit onto a third party make sure to include this manual.
• Check that the voltage marked on the rating label matches your mains voltage.
Damage
• Please inspect the unit for damage after unpacking.
• Do not continue to operate the unit if you are in any doubt about it working normally,
or if it is damaged in any way - switch o, unplug from the mains socket and consult
your dealer.
Location of Unit
• The unit must be placed on a at stable surface and should not be subjected to vibrations.
• Do not place the unit on sloped or unstable surfaces as the unit may fall o or tip over.
• The mains socket must be located near the unit and should be easily accessible.
Temperature
• Avoid extreme degrees of temperature, either hot or cold. Place the unit well away from
heat sources such as radiators or gas/electric res.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and other sources of heat.
Naked Flames
• Never place any type of candle or naked ame on the top of or near the unit.
Moisture
• To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or product damage, do not expose this unit to
rain, moisture, dripping or splashing. No objects lled with liquids, such as vases, should
be placed on the unit.
• If you spill any liquid into the unit, it can cause serious damage. Switch it o at the mains
immediately. Withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.
Ventilation
• To prevent the risk of electric shock or re hazard due to overheating, ensure that curtains
and other materials do not obstruct the ventilation vents.
• Do not install or place this unit in a bookcase, built-in cabinet or in another conned space.
Ensure the unit is well ventilated.
Safety
• Always disconnect the unit from the mains supply before connecting/ disconnecting other
devices or moving the unit.
• Unplug the unit from the mains socket before a lightning storm.
• In the interests of safety and to avoid unnecessary energy consumption, never leave
the unit switched on while unattended for long periods of time, e.g. overnight, while on
holiday or while out of the house. Switch it o and disconnect the mains plug from the
mains socket.
Mains Cable
• Make sure the unit or the unit stand is not resting on top of the mains cable, as the weight
of the unit may damage the cable and create a safety hazard.
• If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or
similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Interference
• Do not place the unit on or near appliances which may cause electromagnetic interference.
If you do, it may adversely aect the performance of the unit, and cause a distorted sound.
Batteries
• Batteries used in the unit are easily swallowed by young children and this is dangerous.
• Keep loose batteries away from young children and make sure that the battery holder tray
is secure in the unit. Seek medical advice if you believe a cell has been swallowed.
• Please dispose of batteries correctly by following the guidance in this manual.
• Do not expose the battery to direct sunlight or sources of excessive heat.
Supervision
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the unit.
• Never let anyone especially children push anything into the holes, slots or any other
openings in the case - this could result in a fatal electric shock.
Class 1 Laser Product
• This unit utilises a laser. Use of controls, adjustments or
performance of procedures other than those specied herein may
result in hazardous radiation exposure.
• Before moving the unit, ensure the disc tray is empty.
• Always remove the disc when the unit is not in use.
• Failure to do so will risk severely damaging the disc and the unit.
• Do not stack devices; heat from other devices may aect the performance of the unit.
CAUTION
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

The lightning ash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is
intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous
voltage” within the unit’s enclosure that may be of sucient magnitude to
constitute a risk of electric shock.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the
user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing)
instructions in the manual accompanying the unit.
Service
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove screws. The unit does not contain any
user-serviceable parts. Please leave all maintenance work to qualied personnel.
• Do not open any xed covers as this may expose dangerous voltages.
Maintenance
• Ensure the unit is fully unplugged from the power supply before cleaning.
• Do not use any type of abrasive pad or abrasive cleaning solutions as these may damage
the unit’s surface.
• Do not use liquids to clean the unit.

Knowing When to Replace the Batteries
• When the batteries become weak, the sound will become weak and
distorted.
• When the batteries are completely exhausted, the power will turn o.
Handling the Batteries
• Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or
battery leakage, which could cause personal injury or damage to
property.
• Install the batteries correctly by following the polarity (+ and –)
indications in the battery compartment.
• Use only the types of batteries which are indicated in this manual.
• Do not install new batteries with used ones and do not mix dierent
types of batteries.
• Do not dispose of the used batteries as domestic waste. Dispose of
them in accordance with local regulations.
• If you are not going to use the unit for a long time, remove the
batteries to avoid damage from battery leakage and corrosion.
Connecting to the Mains Supply
• Unwind the mains cable to its full length. Connect one end of the mains
cable to the
AC IN Socket at the rear of the unit then connect the other end to the mains
socket. Make sure the mains cable is rmly inserted into the mains socket.
The unit is now connected and ready to use.
• To switch the unit o completely, slide FUNCTION to OFF position or
unplug the mains plug from the mains socket.

General Operation
Selecting Modes
• Slide FUNCTION to AUX position to select AUX IN Mode.
• Slide FUNCTION to CD position to select CD Mode.
• Slide FUNCTION to DAB+/FM position to select DAB Mode.
Press DAB+/FM/MODE to toggle between DAB and FM modes.
• To switch the unit o completely, slide FUNCTION to OFF position or
unplug the mains plug from the mains socket.
• When the unit is idle for approximately 10 minutes in AUX IN or
CD mode, it will automatically switch o. Slide FUNCTION to OFF
position rst before selecting your current mode or other modes.
• Please turn the unit o completely to save energy when not in use.
Adjusting the Volume
• Slide VOLUME to adjust the volume.
Setting the Time and Date
1. While in DAB or FM mode, press MENU to display the menu.
2. Press
TUNING to select <Set Time/Date>, then press ENTER to
conrm.
3. Press
TUNING to select the option below, then press ENTER to
conrm.
Set 12/24 hour Press TUNING to select <Set 12 hour> or
<Set 24 hour>, then press ENTER to confirm.
Set Time/date Press
TUNING to adjust the time and date,
then press ENTER to confirm.
Set date format Press
TUNING to select <MM-DD-YYYY> or
<DD-MM-YYYY>, then press ENTER to confirm.
4. Press MENU to exit.
Software Version
1. Switch on the radio, press MENU to display the menu.
2. Press
TUNING to select <SW Version>, then press ENTER to conrm.
3. The software version will show on the display.

System Reset
There may be times when you need to reset your unit back to the factory
settings especially when you have moved house. If you experience reception
problems you may want to reset and try again. If you move to another part of
the country and pick up the local and national DAB stations in that area, your
previously tuned channels may no longer be available.
1. In DAB+/FM mode, press and hold DAB+/FM/MODE until the display
shows “Press ENTER key to Reset”.
2. Press ENTER to start reset. The display will show “Press ENTER key OK”, then
it will automatically enter DAB mode and perform auto scan.
After the system reset, all the tuned stations, DAB/FM preset stations
will be erased.
DAB Operation
If the unit is connected to the mains power for the rst time, sliding FUNCTION
to DAB+/FM position will automatically enter into DAB mode and perform auto
scan. During the scan, the display will show “Searching…” together with a slide
bar that indicates the progress of the scan and the amount of stations that have
been found so far.
Once the scan has nished, the unit will select the rst alphanumerically found
station. To explore the found stations, press
TUNING to select, then press
ENTER to conrm.
Full Scan
The full scan will search for the entire DAB Band III channels. After the scan has
nished, the rst alphanumerically found station will be automatically selected.
1. To activate auto scan, press FULL SCAN/
/ and the display will show
“Searching …” and a progressing slide bar. You can also press MENU; then
press
TUNING to select <Full scan> and then press ENTER to conrm.
2. All the stations that have been found will be stored automatically. To explore
and listen to the found stations, press
TUNING to select, then press
ENTER to conrm.
Manual Tune
You can also manually tune the receiver. This can help when aligning your aerial
or when adding stations that were missed while auto tuning.
1. Press MENU to display the menu.
2. Press
TUNING to select <Manual Tune> and then press ENTER to
conrm.
3. Press
TUNING to cycle through the DAB channels, which are
numbered from 5A to 13F.

4. After your desired channel number is selected, press ENTER to conrm. The
display will show the multiplex.
5. Once you have reached the last channel number, the unit will revert back to
the rst channel number again.
6. Press MENU to exit.
Secondary Services
You may see a “>” symbol after the name of the station, this indicates that
there are secondary services available to that station. These secondary services
contain extra services that are related to the primary station. e.g. a sports station
may want to add extra commentaries. The secondary services are inserted
directly after the primary station in the station list.
To select the secondary station, press ENTER when the “>” appears on the
display before the station name. When the secondary service ends, the unit will
automatically switch back to the primary station.
Preset Stations
You can store up to 10 of your favourite stations to the memory. This will enable
you to access your favourite stations quickly and easily.
1. To store a preset, you must rst be listening to the station that you would
like to save, press and hold PRESET/PROG.. “Preset Store <Empty P#>” will
show on the display.
2. Press
TUNING to select your desired preset station number and then
press ENTER to conrm.
3. The station will be stored and the screen will show “Preset # Stored“.
Recalling a Stored Station
1. Once you have saved a station to one of the preset buttons, you can recall it
by pressing PRESET/PROG.. Preset Recall <”station” P#> will show on the
display.
2. Press
TUNING to select your desired preset station number.
3. Press ENTER to conrm.
• The stored stations will be saved into the memory and power o
will not erase it.
• Storing a new station into a preset location will erase the
previously stored station in that location.
Prune
You may remove all unavailable stations from the list.
1. In DAB mode, press MENU, and then press
TUNING to select
<Prune>. Press ENTER to conrm.
2. Press
TUNING to select <YES> to conrm delete. Or select <NO> to
cancel. Press ENTER to conrm.
3. Press MENU to exit.

DAB+/DAB Display Modes
Every time you press INFO/ , the display will switch through the following
display modes.
The information of each display mode is displayed at the lower segment of the
display.
Frequency
This displays the frequency of the current
station.
Audio Bit Rate
This displays the digital audio bit rate
being received.
Scrolling Text
This is a scrolling message giving real-
time information, e.g. song titles, news
headlines, etc.
Programme Type
This describes the “style” or “genre” of the
programme that is being broadcast.
Ensemble
This displays the name of the multiplex
that contains the station you are
listening to. A multiplex is a collection
of radio stations that are bundled and
transmitted on one frequency. There
are national and local multiplexes. Local
ones contain stations that are specic to
that area.
DAB – unlike normal radio,
groups together several
radio stations and transmits
them on one frequency.
Signal Strength
This shows a slide bar to indicate the
signal strength, the stronger the signal,
the longer the bar will be from left to
right.
Date
This displays the current date.
Time
This displays the current time.

FM Operation
Switching from DAB to FM Mode
Slide FUNCTION to DAB+/FM position, then press DAB+/FM/MODE to select
FM mode. The display will show the frequency.
Auto Scan
To search for an FM station, press FULL SCAN/ / to start the auto scan. Once a
station has been found, the scanning will stop automatically.
Manual Scan
To search for FM stations manually, press TUNING repeatedly until your
desired frequency is reached.
With FM radio it may be necessary to ne tune each station by
pressing TUNING repeatedly. Each press will adjust the
frequency by 0.05MHz. If reception is still poor, adjust the position of
the aerial or try moving the radio to another location.
Scan Setting
You can set the unit to search for all stations or to search for strong stations only.
1. Press MENU to display the menu.
2. Press
TUNING repeatedly to select <Scan Setting>, then press ENTER
to conrm.
3. Press
TUNING repeatedly to select <All stations> or <Strong
stations only>, then press ENTER to conrm.
Audio Setting
The unit will automatically switch between stereo and mono mode, but you can
override this and switch this function manually. This is helpful when receiving
poor signal reception.
1. Press MENU to display the menu.
2. Press
TUNING repeatedly to select <Audio Setting>, then press
ENTER to conrm.
3. Press
TUNING to select <Forced mono> or <Stereo allowed>, then
press ENTER to conrm.
Preset Stations

2. Place the CD with the label side up into the CD compartment, and then
push down the CD compartment cover to close.
