Introduction

We congratulate you on the purchase of your new

device. You have chosen a high quality product.

The instructions for use are part of the product. They

contain important information concerning safety,

use and disposal. Before using the product, please

familiarise yourself with all of the safety information

and instructions for use. Only use the unit as descri-

bed and for the speciﬁed applications. If you pass

the product on to anyone else, please ensure that

you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Proper use

This device – when combined with the appropriate

sandpaper – is suitable for dry-sanding wood, plas-

tic, metal, ﬁller and painted surfaces. The device is

particularly suitable for corners, proﬁles or diﬃcult to

access places. Any other use or modiﬁcation to the

device shall be considered as improper use and

could give rise to considerable dangers. We will

not accept liability for loss or damage arising from

improper use. Not suitable for commercial use.

The vibration level speciﬁed in

these instructions was measured in accordance with

an EN 60745 standardised measurement process

and can be used to compare equipment. The vibra-

tion emission value speciﬁed can also serve as a

preliminary assessment of the exposure.

The vibration level will change according to the ap-

plication of the electrical tool an in some cases may

exceed the value speciﬁed in these instructions. Re-

gularly using the electric tool in such a way may

make it easy to underestimate the vibration.

Try to keep the vibration loads as low as possible.

Measures for the reduction of the vibration load are,

for example, wearing gloves and reduction of the

working time. Here, all parts of the operating cycle

have to be calculated in (i.e. times where the elec-

trical tool is switched oﬀ and the times where the

electrical tool is switched on but is running without

load).

refers to electrical tools powered by mains electric-

ity (by means of a mains lead) and electrical tools

Electrical safety

The mains plug on the device must match

the mains socket. The plug must not

be modified in any way. Do not use

an adapter plug with devices fitted

with a protective earth. Unmodiﬁed

plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of

electric shock.

b) Avoid touching earthed surfaces such

as pipes, radiators, ovens and refrig-

erators with any part of your body.

There is an increased risk of electric shock if

your body is earthed

c) Keep the device away from rain or

moisture. Water entering an electrical device

increases the risk of electric shock.

d) Do not use the mains lead for any pur-

pose for which it was not intended, e.g.

to carry the device, to hang up the de-

vice or to pull the mains plug out of the

mains socket. Keep the mains lead

away from heat, oil, sharp edges or

moving parts of the device. Damaged or

tangled mains leads increase the risk of elec-

tric shock.

e) When working outdoors with an

electrical power tool always use ex-

tension cables that are also approved

for use outdoors. The use of an extension

cable suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk

of electric shock.

f) Use a residual current device (RCD)

for protection if operating the electri-

cal power tool in a moist environment

is unavoidable. The use of an RCD reduces

the risk of electric shock.

3. Personal safety

a) Remain alert at all times, watch what

you are doing and always proceed

with caution. Do not use the device if

you are tired or under the influence of

drugs, alcohol or medication. One mo

ment

of carelessness when using the device can lead

to serious injury.

b) Wear personal protective equipment

and always wear safety glasses. The

wearing of personal protective equipment such

as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, safety hel-

mets or ear protectors, appropriate to the type

of electrical power tool used and work under-

taken, reduces the risk of injury.

c) Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the

power tool is switched oﬀ before con-

necting it to the mains and or connec-

ting the battery, before picking it up

or carrying it. Accidents can happen if you

carry the device with your ﬁnger on the ON /

OFF switch or with the device switched on.

d) Remove any setting tools or spanners

before you switch the device on. A tool

or spanner left attached to a rotating part of a

device can lead to injury.

e) Avoid placing your body in an unnat-

ural position. Keep proper footing

and balance at all times. By doing this

you will be in a better position to control the

device in unforeseen circumstances.

f) Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear

loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your

hair, clothing and gloves clear of mov-

ing parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long

hair can become trapped in moving parts.

g) If vacuum dust extraction and collection

devices are fitted do not forget to

check

that they are properly connected and

correctly used. The use of these devices

reduces the hazard presented by dust.

Careful handling and use

of electrical power tools

a) Do not overload the device. Always

use an electrical power tool that is

intended for the task you are under-

taking. By using the right electrical power

tool for the job you will work more safely and

achieve a better result.

b) Do not use an electrical power tool if

its switch is defective. An electrical power

tool that can no longer be switched on and oﬀ

is dangerous and must be repaired.

c) Pull the mains plug out of the socket

and / or remove the rechargeable bat-

tery before you make any adjustments

to the device, change accessories or

when the device is put away. This pre-

caution is intended to prevent the device from

unintentionally starting.

d) When not in use always ensure that

electrical power tools are kept out of

reach of children. Do not let anyone use

the device if he or she is not familiar

with it or has not read the instructions

and advice. Electrical power tools are dan-

gerous when they are used by inexperienced

people.

e) Look after the device carefully. Check

that moving parts are working prop-

erly and move freely. Check for any

parts that are broken or damaged

enough to detrimentally affect the

functioning of the device. Have dam-

aged parts repaired before you use

the device. Many accidents have their origins

in poorly maintained electrical power tools.

f) Keep cutting tools clean and sharp.

Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp

cutting edges are less likely to jam and are

easier to control.

g) Use the electrical power tool, accesso-

ries, inserted tools etc. in accordance

with these instructions and advice, and

the stipulations drawn up for this par-

ticular type of device. In doing this, take

into account the working conditions

and the task in hand. The use of electrical

power tools for purposes other than those in-

tended can lead to dangerous situations.

5. Use and handling of the

cordless electrical power tool

a) Charge a rechargeable battery unit

using only the charger recommended

by the manufacturer. Chargers are often

designed for a particular type of rechargeable

battery unit. There is the danger of ﬁre if other

types of rechargeable battery units are used.

b) Only the rechargeable battery units

supplied are to be used with an elec-

trical power tool. The use of other recharge-

able battery units may lead to the danger of

injury or ﬁre.

c) When they are not being used, store

rechargeable battery units away from

paperclips, coins, keys. nails, screws

or other small metal objects that could

cause the contacts to be bridged. Short-

circuiting the contacts of a rechargeable battery

unit may result in heat damage or ﬁre.

d) Fluids may leak out of rechargeable

battery units if they are misused. If

this happens, avoid contact with the

ﬂuid. If contact occurs, ﬂush the af-

fected area with water. Seek addi-

tional medical help if any of the ﬂuid

gets into your eyes. Escaping battery ﬂuid

may cause skin irritation or burns.

6. Service

a) Have your device repaired at the ser-

vice centre or by qualified specialist

personnel using original manufacturer

parts only. This will ensure that your device

remains safe to use.

DANGER DUE TO DUST!

When working on wood for extended periods

and particularly when working on materials

which generate dust which is dangerous to the

health, be sure to connect it to a suitable dust

extractor. Wear safety glasses and a dust mask.

Avoid sanding paint containing lead or other

materials harmful to your health.

TOXIC FUMES! Working

with harmful / toxic dust poses a risk to the

health of the person operating the unit and to

anyone nearby.

RISK OF FIRE FROM FLYING SPARKS!

Grinding metals produces flying sparks. Thus

be very careful not to endanger persons, and

that no flammables are near the work area.

Ensure proper ventilation when working on pla-

stics, paint, lacquer, etc.

Do not work on damp materials or moist surfaces.

Do not work on materials containing asbestos.

Asbestos is considered carcinogenic.

Never use the device for any purpose other

than the intended purpose and only use it with

the original parts and accessories. Using parts

or accessories not speciﬁed in the instructions

may result in injuries.

Secure the work-piece. Use clamps or a

vice to secure the work piece. This will secure it

more safely than your hand.

If the mains cable for this unit becomes dama-

ged it must be replaced by customer service or

similarly qualiﬁed professionals to avoid hazards.

Children or persons (including children) who

lack the knowledge or experience to use the

device or whose physical, sensory or intellectual

capacities are limited must never be allowed to

use the device without supervision or instruction

by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that

they do not play with the device.

Single use, non-rechargeable batteries must

never be recharged.

Before Initial Use

Removing / charging /

inserting the battery pack

Note: The battery packed is delivered partly

charged.

Charge the battery pack with the included charger,

ideally for a minimum of 3 hours. This will ensure

the battery delivers full power. Li-Ion batteries can

be charged at any time without reducing the life. In-

terrupting the charging process does not damage

the rechargeable battery.

1. To remove the rechargeable battery pack

2. Insert the battery pack

will light up red.

RED/ YELLOW/ GREEN = maximum charge/ power

Vacuum dust extraction

DANGER OF FIRE! There is

the danger of ﬁre when working with electrical

devices that have a dust box or can be connected

to a vacuum cleaner. Under certain conditions the

wood dust in the dust extraction bag (or in the

vacuum‘s dust bag) may ignite, e.g. as a result of

ﬂying sparks generated when abrading metals or

metal objects left in wood. This can happen par-

ticularly if the wood dust is mixed with paint resi-

due or other chemicals and the abraded particles

are hot from prolonged abrasion. Therefore you

must empty the device’s dust collection box and the

vacuum cleaner’s dust bag before taking a break

or stopping work and always avoid overheating of

the abraded particles and the device.

up to the stop on the hand sander.

der to ensure the optimum removal of

dust by

suction.

To do so, remove the dust box

vice as described above. Open the dust box

by pulling on the tab

and remove the cover.

Now tap both parts to thoroughly clean them.

Attaching / detaching

sanding sheets

Attaching:

Sanding sheets are attached to the backing plate

by means of the hook and pile fastening.

Detaching:

Simply pull the sanding sheet oﬀ the backing

plate

(see Fig. C).

Rotate the backing plate

into the desired

position (see Fig. D).

Sanding and surfaces:

The sanding output and the quality of the surface

ﬁnish are determined by the grade of grit on the

sanding sheet.

Always use sanding sheets with grades that

are suitable for the particular surface you are

sanding.

Advice on use

Switch the device on before placing it against

the workpiece.

Apply light sanding pressure only.

Advance the device at an even rate.

Change sanding sheets at the appropriate time.

Do not work on diﬀerent types of material using

the same sanding sheet (e.g. wood and then

metal).

Clean the sanding sheet from time to time with

a vacuum cleaner.

Sand diﬃcult to reach places with the front or

side corners of the backing plate

Maintenance and cleaning

Always pull the mains plug is out

of the socket before doing any work on the device.

The battery powered palm sander is maintenance-free.

For cleaning the housing use a dry cloth only.

Remove any adhering sanding dust with a

narrow paint brush.

Never any kind of sharp object or petrol,

solvents or cleaning agents that might attack

plastic. Do not allow any liquids to enter the

inside of the device.

Always keep the ventilation slots

clear.

parts only. This will ensure that your device

remains safe to use.

way can a post-free despatch for your

goods be assured.

The warranty covers only claims for material and

maufacturing defects, but not for transport damage,

for wearing parts or for damage to fragile compo-

The warranty is void in the case of abusive and im-

proper handling, use of force and internal tamper-

Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way

The warranty period will not be extended by repairs

Tarkoituksenmukainen käyttö

Laite on tarkoitettu – hiomapaperista riippuen – puun,

muovin, metallin, pohjustusaineen sekä lakattujen pin-

tojen kuivahiomiseen. Laite on erityisen sopiva nurkki

en,

proﬁilien tai vaikeapääsyisten paikkojen hiomiseen.

Kaikenlainen muu käyttö tai muutokset laitteessa eivät

vastaa tarkoituksenmukaista käyttöä ja niissä piilee

huomattava tapaturmavaara. Me emme vastaa tarkoi-

tuksenvastaisesta käytöstä aiheutuneista vahingoista.

Arvioitu kiihtyvyys, tyypillisesti:

Näissä ohjeissa ilmoitettu vä-

rähtelytaso on määritetty EN 60745 -standardissa

normitetulla mittausmenetelmällä ja sitä voidaan

käyttää laitevertailussa. Mainittua värähtelyarvoa

voidaan käyttää myös altistumisen alustavaan arvi-

ointiin.

Värähtelytaso muuttuu sähkötyökalun käytön mukaan

ja se saattaa joissakin tapauksissa ylittää tässä oh-

jeessa mainitun arvon. Värähtelyrasitusta saatetaan

aliarvioida, jos sähkötyökalua käytetään säännölli-

sesti tällä tavalla.

Yritä pitää mahdollisimman pienenä värähtelystä

aiheutuvaa rasitusta. Esimerkiksi värähtelyrasitusta

voidaan vähentää käyttämällä käsineitä työkalun

käytössä ja lyhentämällä työstöaikaa. Toimintajak

den laiminlyönti voi aiheuttaa sähköiskun,

tulipalon ja / tai vakavia loukkaantumisia.

Säilytä kaikki turva- ja muut ohjeet tulevaa

tarvetta varten!

Turvallisuusohjeissa käytetty käsite “sähkötyökalu“

koskee verkkokäyttöisiä sähkötyökoneita (verkko-

johdolla) ja akkukäyttösisiä sähkötyökoneita (ilman

johtoa).

Työpaikkaturvallisuus

a) Pidä työskentelypaikka puhtaana ja

hyvin valaistuna. Epäjärjestys ja huono

valaistus voivat johtaa tapaturmiin.

b) Älä käytä laitetta räjähdysvaaralli-

sessa ympäristössä, jossa säilytetään

helposti syttyviä nesteitä, kaasuja tai

jossa kehittyy pölyä. Sähkötyökalut kehit-

tävät kipinöintiä, joka voi sytyttää pölyn tai

höyryn.

c) Lapsien ja asiattomien henkilöiden läs-

näolo työpaikalla laitteen ollessa

käynnissä ei ole sallittua. Voit helposti

menettää kontrollin laitteeseen.

Sähköturvallisuus

a) Laitteen pistokkeen pitää sopia pisto-

rasiaan. Pistoketta ei saa muuttaa

millään tavalla. Älä käytä adapteria

yhdessä suojamaadoitettujen laitteiden

kanssa. Alkuperäinen pistoke ja sopivat pis-

torasia vähentävät sähköiskuvaaraa.

b) Vältä kosketusta maadoitettuihin pin-

toihin, kuten putkiin, lämpöpatterei-

hin, liesiin sekä jääkaappeihin. Vaarana

on saada sähköisku, jos kehosi on maadoitettu.

Älä pidä laitetta sateessa tai muussa

kosteudessa. Veden pääsy laitteeseen lisää

sähköisku vaaraa.

d) Älä kanna laitetta riiputtamalla sitä

kaapelista ja vedä kaapeli irti pisto-

rasiasta pitämällä kiinni pistok-

keesta. Älä jätä kaapelia kuumaan

paikkaan, älä päästä siihen öljyä,

varo teräviä reunoja sekä laitteen

pyöriviä osia. Vialliset tai kietoutuneet kaa-

pelit lisäävät riskiä saada sähköisku.

e) Jos työskentelet ulkotiloissa, käytä

silloin jatkokaapelia, jonka käyttö on

sallittu myös ulkotilaan. Ulkotilaan sovel-

tuva kaapeli vähentää riskiä saada sähköisku.

f) Jos sähkötyökalua joudutaan käyttä-

mään kosteassa ympäristössä, on

käytettävä vikavirtakytkintä. Vikavirta-

kytkimen käyttö pienentää sähköiskun vaaraa.

3. Henkilöiden turvallisuus

a) Ole aina tarkkaavainen, tarkista aina,

mitä teet ja toimi järkevästi sähkölait-

teilla työskennellessäsi. Älä käytä

laitetta, jos olet väsynyt, käyttänyt

huumeita, alkoholia tai lääkkeitä.

Epätarkkaavaisuus laitetta käytettäessä voi

aiheuttaa vaikeita loukkaantumisia.

b) Käytä henkilökohtaisia turvavarus-

teita ja suojalaseja aina. Henkilökohtais-

ten turvavarusteiden käyttö, kuten pölynaamari,

turvakengät, kypärä tai kuulosuoja, vähentävät

loukkaantumisriskiä.

c) Vältä laitteen tahatonta käynnistymi-

stä. Varmista, että sähkötyökalu on

kytketty pois päältä, ennen kuin liität

sen sähköverkkoon ja / tai akkuun,

nostat tai siirrät sitä. Tapaturmat ovat

mahdollisia, jos sormesi on laitetta kantaessasi

virtakytkimellä tai laite on kytketty päälle.

d) Poista kaikki työkalut ja ruuviavaimet

paikalta ennen kuin kytket laitteen.

Pyörivässä laiteosassa oleva työkalu tai avain

voi johtaa tapaturmaan.

Vältä työskentelemästä epätavallisessa

asennossa. Asetu tukevaan asentoon

ja pysyttele koko ajan tasapainossa.

Pystyt silloin hallitsemaan laitteen erityisesti yl-

lättävissä tilanteissa.

f) Käytä sopivaa vaatetusta. Älä käytä

löysiä vaatteita äläkä pidä koruja.

Hiukset, vaatteet ja käsineet on pidet-

tävä etäällä liikkuvista osista. Löysät

vaatteet, korut ja avonaiset hiukset voivat jäädä

kiinni liikkuviin osiin.

g) Jos laitteeseen asennetaan pölynimuri-

ja lastunkeruulaite, varmistu sitä ennen,

että osat on liitetty ja niitä käytetään

oikein. Näiden laitteiden liittäminen vähentää

pölystä aiheutuvia vaaroja.

Sähkötyökalujen huolellinen

käsittely ja käyttö

a) Älä ylirasita laitetta. Käytä työssäsi

tätä työtä varten tarkoitettua sähkö-

työkalua. Sopivan sähkötyökalun kanssa

työskentelet paremmin ja varmemmin sen teho-

alueella.

b) Älä käytä mitään sähkötyökalua,

jonka käynnistyskytkin on viallinen.

Sähkötyökalu, jota ei voi enää kytkeä päälle

tai päältä, on vaarallinen ja se on korjattava.

c) Irrota pistoke pistorasiasta ja / tai

poista akku, ennen kuin suoritat säätöjä

laitteeseen, vaihdat varaosia tai otat

laitteen käytöstä. Tämä varotoimenpide es-

tää sähkötyökalun tahattoman käynnistyksen.

d) S

äilytä sähkötyökaluja silloin, kun niitä

ei käytetä, lasten ulottumattomissa.

Älä anna henkilöiden käyttää laitetta,

jos he eivät tunne sitä tai eivät ole luke-

neet näitä käyttöohjeita. Sähkötyökalut

ovat vaarallisia, jos kokemattomat henkilöt

käyttävät niitä.

e) Hoida laitetta huolellisesti. Tarkasta,

toimivatko sen liikkuvat osat

moitteettomasti ja että ne eivät jumitu;

tarkasta, onko joku osa katkennut tai

murtunut tai vahingoittunut niin, että

se haittaa laitteen toimintaa. Korjauta

vialliset osat aina ennen kuin käytät

laitetta. Moni tapaturma johtuu huonosti

huolletuista sähkötyökaluista.

f) Pidä terät terävinä ja puhtaina. Huolella

hoidetut leikkuuterät terävine leikkuureunoineen

eivät juutu niin helposti kiinni työkappaleeseen

ja ne toimivat kevyemmin.

g) Käytä sähkötyökaluja, lisätarvikkeita,

käyttötarvikkeita jne. tässä esitettyjen

määräysten mukaisesti ja aina eri

tyistä

tyyppiä vastaavasti. Ota huomioon

työolosuhteet ja työ. Sähkötyökalujen

käyttö muuhun kuin sille määrättyyn tarkoituk-

seen voi aiheuttaa vaarallisia tilanteita.

5. Akkutyökalun käyttö

ja käsittely

a) Lataa akut ainoastaan valmistajan

suosittelemilla latauslaitteilla. Tietylle

akkutyypille soveltuvaan latauslaitteeseen liittyy

syttymisvaara, jos siinä yritetään ladata muun-

tyyppisiä akkuja.

b) Käytä sähkötyökaluissa vain niille

tarkoitettuja akkuja. Muiden akkujen

käyttö

voi johtaa loukkaantumisiin ja tulipalon vaaraan.

c) P

idä käyttämätön akku loitolla klemma-

reista, kolikoista, avaimista, nauloista,

ruuveista tai muista pienistä metalliesi

neistä, jotka voivat saada aikaan koske-

tusten ohituksen. Akkukosketusten välinen

oikosulku voi johtaa palo

vammoihin tai tulipa-

loon.

d) Väärän käytön yhteydessä akusta

saattaa vuotaa ulos nestettä. Vältä

koskettamasta nestettä. Jos kosketat

sitä vahingossa, huuhtele se pois ve-

dellä. Jos nestettä joutuu silmiin, käänny

lisäksi lääkärin puoleen. Vuotava akkune

ste

voi ärsyttää ihoa tai aiheuttaa palovammoja.

a) Anna laitteet huoltoliikkeen tai sähkö-

liikkeen korjattavaksi. Korjauksissa

PÖLYN AIHEUTTAMAT

RISKIT! Liitä laite sopivaan ulkoiseen pölyni-

mulaitteeseen, kun työstät pidempään puuta, ja

erityisesti silloin, kun työstät materiaaleja, joista

syntyy terveyttä vaarantavia pölyjä. Käytä suo-

jalaseja ja pölysuojainta.

Vältä lyijypitoisten maalien tai muiden tervey

delle

haitallisten materiaalien hiomista.

MYRKYLLISIÄ HÖY-

RYJÄ! Haitallisten / myrkyllisten pölyjen synty-

minen vaarantaa laitetta käyttävän henkilön tai

lähellä olevien henkilöiden turvallisuuden.

KIPINÖISTÄ AIHEUTUVA TULIPALON

VAARA! Metallia hiottaessa syntyy lentäviä

kipinöitä. Huomioi ehdottomasti, ettei työskentely

vaaranna ketään henkilöä eikä työskentelyalueen

läheisyydessä ole helposti syttyviä materiaaleja.

Huolehdi muoveja, maaleja, lakkoja jne. työ-

stettäessä riittävästä ilmastoinnista.

Älä työstä kosteita materiaaleja tai pintoja.

Asbestipitoista materiaalia ei saa työstää.

Asbestia pidetään syöpää aiheuttavana.

Käytä laitetta aina asiaankuuluvasti ja vain al-

kuperäisillä osilla / tarvikkeilla. Muiden kuin

käyttöohjeessa suositeltujen osien tai muiden

varusteiden käyttö voi aiheuttaa loukkaantumis-

riskin.

Varmista työstettävä kappale. Käytä

kiristyslaitetta / ruuvipenkkiä työkappaleen kiin-

nittämiseen. Kiinnitys on turvallisempi vaihtoehto

kuin käsin kiinni pitäminen.

Laturin laitekohtaiset

Jos laitteen verkkojohto vaurioituu, se täytyy

vaihtaa uuteen asiakaspalvelun tai muun päte-

vän henkilön toimesta, jotta mahdolliset riskit

voidaan välttää.

Tämä laite ei ole tarkoitettu sellaisten henkilöi-

den (lapset mukaan luettuina) käyttöön, joiden

fyysinen, aistimuksellinen tai henkinen kunto on

Litiumioniakut voidaan ladata milloin tahansa lyhen-

tämättä niiden käyttöikää. Latauksen keskeyttäminen

ei vahingoita akkua.

Pölynpoisto

PALOVAARA! Kun työsken-

nellään sähkölaitteilla, joissa on pölylaatikko tai

jotka voidaan yhdistää pölynpoistolla pölynimuriin,

uhkaa palovaara! Epäsuotuisissa olosuhteissa kuten

esim. kipinöiden lentäessä, hiottaessa metallia tai

metallin rippeitä puussa, voi puupöly pölysäkissä (tai

pölynimurin pölypussissa) syttyä itsestään palamaan.

Tämä voi tapahtua etenkin silloin, jos puupölyyn on

sekoittunut maalin tähteitä tai muita kemiallisia aineita

ja hiottava kappale on pitkän työskentelyn jälkeen

kuuma. Vältä siitä syystä ehdottomasti työstettävän

kappaleen ja laitteen ylikuumenemista ja tyhjennä

pölylaatikko tai pölynimurin pölypussi aina ennen

työtaukoja.
