Aceilinghoistisabattery-poweredtransferdevice,designedtobe
usedindoorinnormaltemperatureandhumidity.
Commonliftingsituationsare:
Betweenthebedandawheelchair
Toandfromthetoilet
Loweringandraisingpatientsto/fromthefloor
Theceilinghoistcanbeusedtotransferandpositioncompletely
orpartiallyimmobilepatientsintherecommendedtracksystem.
Allpositionchangesarepossiblewithoutassistanceofthepatient.
Theceilinghoistisonlyintendedtoliftpatientsuptothemaximum
weightlimitstatedintheusermanual.
Therearenoknowncontraindicationsforthisproduct.Usingthe
hoistforpurposesotherthantransferofpeopleisnotadvised.
Selectingtheappropriateslingsandaccessoriesforeach
individualisimportanttoassuresafetywhenusingaceiling
hoist.SeeInvacare’sslingandaccessoryusermanualsfor

Theceilinghoisthasanexpectedlifetimeof10yearswhenused
inaccordancewithsafetyinstructions,maintenanceintervalsand
correctuse,statedinthismanual.After10yearsuse,itmustbe
inspectedbyaspecializedservicetechnicianbeforefurtheruse.
Theeffectiveproductlifetimecanvaryaccordingtofrequencyand
intensityofuse.Ifthehoistisusedinlocalitieswithincreased
humidity,areductioninlifetimemustbeexpected.

(e.g.thestrapsbecometwisted),theceilinghoistwill
automaticallyturnoff.
Keepthestrapsstraighttoensuretheyfeedintothe
hoistcorrectly.Thestrapsareheldtaughtbythe
weightofthehooks.
Keepthestrapsfreelysuspendedwhentheunloaded
hoistislifting/lowering.
Ifauserunintentionallytrapsthehandintheliftingstrap
duringlifting,thehoistwillautomaticallyturnoff.The
hoiststopsimmediatelywhenahandgetsincontact
withthestrapinlet.
Keepyourhandsawayfromthestrapinletduring
lifting.
CAUTION!
Thehandcontrolisprotectedagainstsplashedwater
(IPX4).Extendedcontactwithwaterwilldamagethe

length.Continuedloweringcouldresultinrollingupthe
liftingstrapsunevenlyandinthewrongway.
Pulltheredemergencystraponlyuntilthepatientis
loweredtoasafeposition.

ormore.

Planthemove.Avoidleavingtheclientinthesling
unattended.
Theceilinghoistliftsquickly.Beforelifting,checkthat
theclientiscompletelyfreeofhis/hersurroundings.
Thepatient’sbodypartsmustnotbeindangerof
becomingtrapped.
Checkthattheredemergencystrap,handcontroland
handcontrolcablearefreeoftheliftingstraps,client
andotherobjectsbeforetheceilinghoistisactivated
andmovedupordown.
Whentheceilinghoistisusedcorrectly,theclient
shouldonlybeliftedtotheextentthatshe/heisclear
ofthesurfaceandshouldbemovedatthisheight.
