SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury, follow these guidelines:
- Do not use the meter if it is damaged. Inspect the case before using the meter. Pay particular attention to the
insulation surrounding the connectors.
- Inspect the test leads for damaged insulation or exposed metal. Check the test leads for continuity. Replace
damaged test leads before you use the meter.
- Do not use the meter if it operates abnormally. Protection may be impaired. When in doubt, have the meter
serviced.
- Do not operate the meter near explosive gases, vapours or dust.
- Do not apply more than the rated voltage, as marked on the meter, between terminals or between any terminal and
earth ground.
- Before use, verify the meter's operation by measuring a known voltage.
- When measuring current, switch off the power supply to the circuit before connecting the meter to the circuit.
Remember to place the meter in series with the circuit.
- When servicing the meter, use only specified replacement parts.
- Use caution when working with following voltages: > 30V AC RMS, > 42V peak or > 60V DC. There is a risk of
electric shock when measuring these voltages.
- When using the probes, keep your fingers behind the finger guards on the probes.
- Do not use the meter if the meter, a test lead or your hand is wet.
- Connect the common test lead (COM) before you connect the live test lead. When you disconnect test leads,
disconnect the live test lead first.
- Turn off the meter and remove the test leads from the meter before opening the back cover or the case.
- Do not operate the meter with the back cover or parts of the case removed or loosened.
- Replace the battery as soon as the battery icon appears on the display. This is to avoid false readings that could
result in electric shock or personal injury.
- Do not touch any naked conductor with your hand or skin. Do not ground your body.
- Adhere to local and national safety codes. Use personal protective equipment to prevent electric shock and arc
blast injuries from hazardous live conductors.
- When measuring class III circuits, you must place the probes in measuring class III, otherwise you may get an
electric shock!
- Warning: When an input terminal is connected to dangerous live voltage, it is to be noted that this voltage can occur
at all other terminals!
To avoid possible damage to the meter or to the equipment under test, follow these guidelines:
- Disconnect circuit power and fully discharge all capacitors before measuring resistance, diode, or continuity.
- Use the correct terminals, function and range for your measurements.
- Before measuring current, check the meter's fuses and turn off power to the circuit before connecting the meter to
the circuit.
- Before turning the rotary switch to change functions, disconnect the test leads from the circuit under test.
NOTES
- This manual is subject to change without notice.
- The manufacturer and importer are not liable for any loss resulting from the use of the equipment.
- Do not use the meter for any purpose other than that described in this manual.
