Important

• Before connecting the appliance, check that the

voltage indicated on the type plate corresponds to

the local mains voltage.

• Do not use this product near water in e.g. baths, washbasins,

sinks.

If the product falls into water, unplug it immediately and

dispose of it. It must not be used again.

• Always ensure that the attachments are completely dry (on the

inside as well as the outside!) before affixing them to the

styler.

• Always switch the appliance off before putting it down, even if

it is only for a moment.

• For additional protection, the installation of a residual current

device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not

exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electric circuit supplying

the bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.

• Even when the appliance is switched off, the electricity has not

been cut off. Always pull out the mains plug when the

appliance is not being used.

• Never obstruct the air inlet grille.

• This product is equipped with an automatic overheating

protection device. If the appliance overheats, it will switch off.

Unplug the appliance. After cooling down for a few minutes,

the appliance can be used again. Before reusing, check the air

inlet grille for possible blockage by fluff, hair, etc. If in doubt,

consult your dealer or an Authorised Philips Service Centre.

Your new Philips Salon Multi Styler has been specially designed to give

beautiful styling results. It is quick and easy to use. We hope you will

enjoy using your Salon Multi Styler - the hairstyler with which you can

create any desired hairdo.

In order to get the best results, please read the instructions carefully

before use. Also refer to the illustrations on fold-out page 3.

General description (fig. 1)

To affix an attachment:

- Align the attachment with the styler, making sure

the arrows on the attachment are in line with the

arrows on the styler. Press to fit (fig. 2).

• Check the condition of the mains cord regularly. Do not wind

the mains cord around the appliance.

• The mains cord of this appliance cannot be replaced. If the

cord is damaged, the appliance should be discarded.

• For examination or repairs always return the appliance to an

Authorised Philips Service Centre. Unqualified repair work can

be dangerous for the user.

To remove an attachment:

- While pressing the release button, pull the

attachment in the direction of the arrow (fig. 3).

How to use

• Remember, a good haircut is the basis for a

good hairstyle.

• The Salon Multi Styler is most effective if the hair is slightly damp. After

washing, dry your hair in the normal way until it is almost dry. Then

begin using your styler. If the hair is dry, lightly dampen it with water.

• Before styling brush or comb your hair to ensure that it is untangled.

• Prevent the hair from becoming too dry. Overdrying may result in frizzy

hair ends which are hard to style.

• The results you can obtain with the Salon Multi Styler depend upon

various factors, for example the thickness, length and structure of your

hair.

Experimenting with the attachments will allow you to discover the styling

possibilities for your particular hair type and will help you determine how

to achieve the best results.

• When using the large vent brush, make sure it does not get tangled in

your hair. Don’t rotate the brush for more than 1.5 turns. Keep the brush

away from the head when you remove it from the hair to avoid picking

up any underlaying hair.

• You can remove the attachment from the hair as soon as the hair feels

dry. The time needed to dry the hair depends on the thickness of the

hair and the amount of hair being styled.

• Use position || (maximum position) when you start styling.

When the hair gets dryer, you can switch back to position |.

For a longer-lasting result, set the Salon Multi Styler to the "Cool air" (1)

position for a few seconds before removing the brush from your hair.

The cool air will fix your wave or curl so that your style will last longer.

• Always switch the appliance off before removing and/or affixing the

attachments.

Attachments

Jumbo tong

- Take a (fine) lock of hair and comb it carefully.

- Hold the lock in one hand and the styler in the other.

- Open the hair clip by pressing the lever (fig. 4).

- Position the lock between the tong and the clip. Then release the clip

(fig. 5).

- Slide the tong to the end of the lock (fig. 6).

- Wind the hair round the Jumbo tong. Ensure that the hair ends are also

wound in the required direction (fig. 7).

Note: The finer the lock, the firmer the curl will be and the longer it will

last!

- Switch on. Keep the styler in the hair until the hair is dry and warm to

the touch (fig. 8).

- Rotate the styler in the opposite direction until the clip can be opened

again (fig. 9). Then open the clip and remove the Jumbo tong by sliding

it sideways.

- For longer lasting curls and waves, switch the styler to its cool air

position (1) to fix the curl and allow the hair to cool down before

combing or brushing.

Volume brush

The Volume brush is suitable for straight and wavy hair of any length.

Its special design ensures that the warm air is directed at the scalp.

As a result, the hair is dried in a way that ensures optimum volume and

"body". The hair can also be styled. For example, you can curl the hair

ends outwards or inwards. This attachment can also be used to make

large curls and waves.

Volume

- Insert the Volume brush into

the hair. Brush against the

direction of the hair growth,

touching the scalp with the

brush. Then rotate the

attachment away from the

head (fig. 10). The hair will be

lifted and fall lightly back onto

the head. In this manner you

add maximum volume to the hair.

• If the hair is still damp you can hold the Volume brush still for a moment,

before you rotate it away from the head to remove it.

Short hair

- Insert the Volume brush into the hair placing the pins of the brush

against the scalp.

- Move the Volume brush

upwards along the scalp

for some 2-3 cm (fig. 11).

- Rotate the attachment

away from the head to

remove it (fig. 12). This will

give your hair volume and

"body".

(Semi)long hair

- Take a lock of hair. Place

the pins of the brush against

the scalp. Move the Volume

brush against the direction

of the hair growth, touching

the scalp with the brush

(fig. 13).

- Rotate the attachment away from the head to remove it (fig. 14).

• You can also add volume to long hair by holding you head down and

brushing the hair with the Volume Styler in this position.

Large vent brush and retractable bristle brush

Making curls in short hair

- Divide the hair (fig. 15) into locks, using a comb. Do not take too much

hair in one lock.

- Switch on the appliance. Wind the hair around the brush in the desired

direction (fig. 16). When using the large vent brush, make sure it does

not get tangled in the hair. Therefore, do not rotate it in the hair more

than 1,5 turn.

Ensure that the hair is wound up so that it is at right angles to the scalp

(fig. 17). This will give your hair optimum lift and

volume.

As soon as the hair is warm to the touch, switch

off the appliance and remove the brush from the

hair.

Making waves in long hair

- Switch on the appliance. Take the ends of the

hair and wind them around the brush in the

desired direction (fig. 18). The resulting shape of

the wave depends on the thickness of the lock and the brush used:

the retractable bristle brush makes tighter curls and the large vent brush

makes looser and bigger waves.

- As soon as the hair is warm to the touch, switch off the appliance and

carefully remove the hot air brush from the hair.

- Leave the curls or waves to cool down, before finishing by combing,

brushing or fingercombing the hair into its final style.

To remove the brush from the hair

• Large vent brush

- Carefully rotate the styler in the opposite direction, just far enough to

release the hair without spoiling the curl. Be careful not to pick up

underlying hairs because this could cause the brush to get stuck in hair.

• Retractable bristle brush

- It is not necessary to rotate the brush in the

opposite direction. Simply push and turn the

bristle retraction knob in the direction of the

arrows (fig. 19) and the bristles will retract.

- Slide the metal bar sideways out of the curl.

This will prevent the curl from getting spoilt or

tangled and makes it last longer.

Cleaning

The brushes can be cleaned with a small brush or

a dry cloth.

Storage

The appliance can be hung from the hanging loop

(fig. 20).

disjoncteur différentiel de 30 mA. Consultez votre installateur

en cas de doute.

• N'obstruez jamais la grille d'entrée d'air.

• Ce produit est pourvu d'une sécurité automatique qui arrête

l'appareil en cas de surchauffe. Dans ce cas débranchez

l'appareil. Après avoir refroidi quelques minutes, l'appareil

peut être utilisé de nouveau. Avant de le réutiliser vérifiez que

la grille d'entrée d'air ne soit pas obstruée par des peluches,

cheveux, etc.

• Si le cordon d'alimentation de cet appareil est endommagé, il

doit être remplacé uniquement par Philips ou un Centre

Service Agréé, car des pièces et/ou des outils spéciaux sont

nécessaires.

Avant de l’utiliser, veuillez lire attentivement ce mode d’emploi ainsi que

les figures qui s’y rattachent.

Pour fixer un accessoire

- Alignez les flèches qui se trouvent sur

l'accessoire et la brosse. Pressez pour verrouiller

l'ensemble (fig. 2).

• Dans tous les cas : pour tout examen ou réparation demandez

toujours conseil à un Centre Service Agréé Philips, car une

réparation inadaptée peut être dangereuse pour l'usager.

• Laissez l'appareil se refroidir avant de le ranger.

Pour retirer un accessoire

- Pressez sur le bouton de déverrouillage, et tirez

l'accessoire dans la direction de la flèche (fig. 3).

Utilisation

• Rappelez-vous qu'en général une bonne coupe

est la base d'une bonne coiffure.

• La brosse coiffante "Salon Multi Styler" est plus efficace si les cheveux

sont humides. Ceci est important si vous changez de style de coiffure.

Après lavage, séchez vos cheveux normalement. Puis utilisez votre

brosse. Si les cheveux sont trop secs, mouillez-les légèrement.

• Avant coiffage brossez ou peignez vos cheveux et assurez-vous qu'ils

soient parfaitement démêlés.

• Des cheveux trop secs deviennent crépus et difficiles à coiffer.

• Les résultats obtenus dépendent de divers facteurs, par exemple

l'épaisseur de vos cheveux et leur structure.

• Attention à ne pas emmêler les cheveux autour de la grande brosse lors

de son utilisation. Afin d’évitez cela, n’enroulez pas les cheveux de plus

d’un tour et demi sur la brosse. Sinon retirez la brosse et recommencez

l’opération.

• Utilisez la position || (position maximum) quand vous commencez la

coiffure.

Puis quand les cheveux commencent à sécher, passez sur la position |.

Pour un résultat plus durable, passez sur la position "air froid" (•) durant

quelques secondes, avant de retirer la brosse des cheveux.

• Arrêtez toujours l'appareil avant de changer d’accessoire.

Accessoires

Pince chauffante

- Prenez une mèche de cheveux en vous aidant d’un peigne.

- Pincez-la (fig. 4-5).

- Puis, faites glisser la pince jusqu’à l’extrémité de la mèche (fig. 6).

- Enroulez la mèche de cheveux sur la pince chauffante dans le sens

désiré (fig. 7).

Nota: Plus la mèche est fine plus la boucle tiendra longtemps.

- Mettez en marche. Maintenez ainsi la brosse et la pince chauffante

jusqu’à ce que les cheveux soient secs au toucher (fig. 8).

- Tournez la brosse dans le sens opposé jusqu’à ce que vous puissiez

libérer la pince (fig. 9) puis retirez la pince de la boucle ainsi créée.

- Pour un résultat plus durable, passez sur la position "air froid" (•) durant

quelques secondes, avant de retirer la brosse des cheveux et de les

brosser.

Brosse Volume

La Brosse Volume s’utilise sur cheveux raides ou ondulés quelle que soit

la longueur. Cet accessoire a été spécialement conçu pour donner du

volume à la coiffure là où c’est nécessaire : près du cuir chevelu. Ainsi les

cheveux sont séchés dans une position optimale qui donne volume et

consistance à votre coiffure. En même temps, vous pouvez arranger

votre coiffure, en bouclant l’extrémité des cheveux vers l’intérieur ou

l’extérieur.

Volume

- L’utilisation de la Brosse

Volume est identique quelle

que soit la longueur des

cheveux.

Placez la brosse dans la

chevelure près du cuir chevelu.

Brossez les cheveux à

rebrousse-poils puis retirez

légèrement la brosse d’un mouvement rotatif (fig. 10).

Cette méthode vous permet de donner un maximum de volume à votre

coiffure.

• Si vos cheveux sont encore humides, séchez-les en maintenant la

Brosse Volume un moment contre le cuir chevelu avant de la retirer

d’un mouvement rotatif.

Cheveux courts

- Placez la Brosse Volume

dans la chevelure près du

cuir chevelu.

- Déplacez la brosse de 2

ou 3 cm le long du crâne

(fig. 11).

- Retirez-la d’un mouvement

rotatif (fig. 12).

Cheveux mi-longs

- Prenez une mèche de

cheveux. Placez la brosse

dans la chevelure près du

cuir chevelu (fig. 13).

- Brossez les cheveux à

rebrousse-poils puis retirez

légèrement la brosse d’un

mouvement rotatif (fig. 14).

• Vous pouvez donner du volume à votre coiffure en gardant la tête

baissée quand vous utilisez la Brosse Volume.

Grande brosse et brosse à picots rétractables

Cheveux courts (5-10cm) : boucles

• Prenez une mèche de cheveux (fig. 15) en vous aidant d’un peigne.

• Enroulez la mèche de cheveux sur la grande brosse dans le sens désiré

(fig. 16).

• N’enroulez pas les cheveux de plus d’un tour et demi sur la brosse.

Sinon retirez-la et recommencez l’opération.

• Mettez en marche.

• Tournez la brosse en remontant vers la base du crâne (fig. 17) de telle

façon que les cheveux fassent un angle droit. La

chevelure obtiendra ainsi plus de volume.

• Arrêtez la brosse et retirez-la de votre chevelure,

puis brossez les cheveux à votre convenance.

Cheveux longs (plus de 20cm) : ondulations

• Prenez une mèche par son extrémité et enroulez-

la sur la brosse dans le sens désiré (fig. 18). Le

résultat dépend surtout de l’épaisseur de la

mèche et de la brosse utilisée. Utilisez de

préférence la petite brosse avec picots pour les anglaises et la grande

brosse pour les boucles plus larges ou ondulations.

• Laissez la brosse jusqu'à ce que les cheveux soient secs au toucher ;

puis retirez les cheveux délicatement de la brosse.

• Laissez refroidir les cheveux avant de les brosser ou de les peigner ;

ainsi les boucles ou ondulations resteront bien formées et pour

longtemps.

Pour retirer les cheveux de la brosse

• Grande brosse

- Tournez la brosse dans le sens opposé afin de retirer les cheveux

délicatement de la brosse. Faites attention à ne pas les emmêler.

• Brosse à picots rétractables

- Ce type de brosse n’a pas besoin d’être tourné en

sens inverse. Vous n’avez qu’a appuyer sur le

bouton de commande et à le tourner dans le sens

indiqué par les flèches (fig. 19) afin de rétracter

les picots.

- Ensuite, retirez la barre de la boucle dans le sens

latéral. Ainsi la boucle gardera sa forme et tiendra

plus longtemps.

Nettoyage

Les accessoires peuvent être nettoyés avec une

petite brosse ou un chiffon sec.

Rangement

L'appareil peut être suspendu par son anneau de

suspension (fig. 20).

• Prüfen Sie vor Inbetriebnahme, ob die Spannungs-

angabe auf dem Typenschild mit der örtlichen

Netzspannung übereinstimmt.

• Verwenden Sie dieses Gerät nicht über gefüllten Badewannen,

Wasch- und Spülbecken.

Wenn das Gerät jedoch einmal ins Wasser gefallen sein sollte,

so ziehen Sie zuerst den Netzstecker, bevor Sie es heraus-

nehmen. Das Gerät darf dann nicht mehr benutzt werden!

• Verwenden Sie das Gerät nur an einer Schuko-Steckdose.

• Vergewissern Sie sich, daß die Bürstenaufsätze völlig trocken

sind (auch innen!), bevor Sie sie auf den Frisierstab aufsetzen.

• Schalten Sie das Gerät stets aus, bevor Sie es ablegen, und sei

es auch nur für einen kurzen Augenblick.

• Der Einbau einer Fehlerstromschutzeinrichtung mit einem

Nennauslösestrom von nicht mehr als 30 mA in der

Hausinstallation bietet zusätzlich Schutz. Wenden Sie sich an

Ihren Elektroinstallateur.

• Selbst wenn das Gerät ausgeschaltet ist, bleibt es unter Strom.

Ziehen Sie darum stets den Stecker aus der Steckdose, wenn

Sie es nicht benutzen.

• Verdecken Sie niemals den Lufteinlaß.

• Bei Überhitzung wird das Gerät automatisch ausgeschaltet.

Ziehen Sie dann den Stecker aus der Steckdose. Sobald es

einige Minuten abgekühlt ist, kann es wieder verwendet

werden. Prüfen Sie, bevor Sie das Gerät erneut einschalten, ob

der Lufteinlaß z.B. durch Flusen oder Haare verstopft ist.

Wenden Sie sich notfalls an Ihren Händler oder das Philips

Service Center.

Mit Ihrem neuen Philips Salon Multi Styler werden Sie schnell schöne

Frisuren zaubern und viel Freude an üppig vollen Locken und Wellen

haben.

Lesen Sie die folgende Gebrauchsanweisung sorgfältig durch, und sehen

Sie sich die Abbildungen auf Seite 3 an. So werden Sie die besten

Ergebnisse erzielen.

Anbringen der Aufsätze

- Setzen Sie den Aufsatz so auf den Frisierstab,

daß die Pfeile auf beiden Teilen zueinander hin

zeigen. Drücken Sie beide Teile zusammen

(Abb. 2).

• Prüfen Sie regelmäßig den Zustand des Netzkabels. Wickeln

Sie das Netzkabel nicht um das Gerät.

• Das Netzkabel dieses Geräts kann nicht ausgewechselt

werden. Bei einer Beschädigung oder einem Defekt des Kabels

kann das Gerät nicht repariert, sondern muß ausgetauscht

werden.

• Wenden Sie sich auch zur Prüfung oder Instandsetzung des

Geräts nur an einen autorisierten Philips-Händler oder das

Philips Service Centre in Ihrem Lande. Unsachgemäße

Reparaturen können dem Anwender ernsthafte Schäden

zufügen.

Abnehmen der Aufsätze

- Drücken Sie die Auslösetaste, und ziehen Sie

gleichzeitig den Aufsatz in Richtung des Pfeiles

ab (Abb. 3).

Die Anwendung des Geräts

• Denken Sie daran: Ein guter Haarschnitt ist die Grundlage für eine gute

Frisur.

• Der Salon Multi Styler ist am wirksamsten bei leicht feuchtem Haar.

Trocknen Sie Ihr Haar nach dem Waschen auf die gewohnte Weise, bis

es nur noch etwas feucht ist, und benutzen Sie dann den Styler. Ist das

Haar trocken, so feuchten Sie es mit Wasser leicht an.

• Bürsten oder kämmen Sie Ihr Haar vor dem Frisieren gut und

gleichmäßig aus, damit es glatt liegt.

• Achten Sie darauf, daß Ihr Haar nicht ganz austrocknet; es wird sonst

spröde und läßt sich schlecht frisieren.

• Das Ergebnis wird durch viele Faktoren beeinflußt, z.B. von der Stärke

und Länge der Haare und von ihrer Struktur.

Somit haben Sie freie Hand, durch die Wahl der passenden Bürste bei

Ihrem Haartyp das gewünschte Ergebnis zu erzielen.

• Wenn Sie die Jumbo-Volumen-Lockenbürste (E) verwenden, so achten

Sie darauf, daß sich das Haar nicht darin verfängt. Winden Sie es

darum nicht mehr als 1

⁄2 Mal um die Bürste. Halten Sie die Bürste vom

Kopf ab, wenn Sie das Haar abwickeln, damit die Borsten nicht darunter

liegende Haare erfassen.

• Sie können die Bürste herausnehmen, sobald sich die Haarsträhne,

warm und trocken anfühlt. Wie lange das dauert, ist abhängig von der

Menge und der Länge der Haare.

• Schalten Sie anfangs auf Stufe II (Maximum). Sobald Ihr Haar

angetrocknet ist, schalten Sie auf Stufe I.

Die Frisur hält länger, wenn Sie anschließend auf • (= Kaltluft) schalten

und einige Sekunden warten, bevor Sie die Bürste aus dem Haar

nehmen. Die Locke oder Welle wird dabei fixiert.

• Schalten Sie das Gerät immer aus, bevor Sie einen Aufsatz anbringen

oder abnehmen.
