Safety
• Handle theproduct with care, making sure not to damage
thesurface of thesolar cell and ensuring that it is not covered with
dust or affected by other contaminants.
• Theproduct must not be changed or modified in anyway.
• Do not let children play with theproduct.
Solar cell installation
In theground

1. Set theswitch on theback of thesolar cell to ON.
2. Attach theground spike to thesolar cell and then push thespike
into theground.
3. Adjust thesolar cell in such away that it can receive as much
sunlight as possible.
4. Place thestring light in asuitable outdoor location.
5. Thelight comes on automatically at dusk (as long as thebattery
has been charged).
On astructure, such as a wall
1. Detach thebracket from
thesolarcell.
2. Using thebracket as aguide, mark
out theposition of themounting
holes on thewall or structure
onto which thesolar cell is to be
fastened.
3. Use anappropriate type of screw
or fastener for thematerial of
thestructure.
Ensure that there are no electrical wires or water pipes
concealed below thesurface into which you intend to drill/screw.
4. Set theswitch on theback of thesolar cell to ON.
5. Fasten thesolar cell back onto thebracket and adjust theangle of
thesolar cell so it can receive as much sunlight as possible.
6. Place thestring light in thedesired outdoor location.
7. Thelight comes on automatically at dusk (as long as thebattery
has been charged).
Thestring light can also be
powered by abattery pack (sold
separately) to enable it to be used
all yearround. Forbattery pack
operation, unscrew theconnector
on thecable joining thesolar cell to
thestring light and replace thesolar
cell with abatterypack.
Care and maintenance
Thestring light and thesolar cell can be cleaned by wiping them
carefully with adampcloth. Useonly mild cleaning agents, never
solvents or corrosive chemicals.
Replacing thebattery in thesolarcell:
1. Remove the4 screws on theback of thesolarcell.
Detachthebackcover.
2. Replace thebattery (1×14500 3.6 V 850 mAh Li-ion) making sure
that it is fitted with thecorrect polarity.
3. Refit thebatterycover.
Thebattery must only be replaced with anequivalent
rechargeable battery.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that this product should not be
disposed of with general householdwaste. Thisapplies
throughout theentire EU. Inorder to prevent any
harm to theenvironment or health hazards caused
by incorrect waste disposal, theproduct must be
handed in for recycling so that thematerial can be
disposed of in aresponsible manner. Whenrecycling
your product, take it to your local collection facility or
contact theplace of purchase. Theywill ensure that
theproduct is disposed of in anenvironmentally sound
manner.
