2. Technologies
Infrared technology: enables deeper and even heat penetration, shorter
styling time, and repairs hair scales; locks in your hair’s natural moisture to prevent
overdrying and achieve healthy, silky and shiny hair.
Ceramic coated plates: allow the hair to glide through the hair straightener
smoothly, without snags or damage. They also heat evenly for faster straightening.
PTC (Positive Temperature Coecient) heating: generates fast and
energy ecient heat transfer; enables the device to cool down quickly to prevent
overheating and ensures a higher level of safety.
3. General information
3.1 Reading and storing the user manual
This user manual accompanies this GoSleek IR (hereafter

1. Take the hair straightener out of the packaging.
2. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see Fig. A).
3. Check whether the hair straightener or individual parts are damaged. If this is the
case, do not use the hair straightener. Contact our customer service.
6. Operation
Clean all parts of the hair straightener before first use as described
in the chapter “Cleaning”.
Before using the hair straightener for the first time, switch it on for

the manufacturing process, you may notice a slight odour. This is
normal and only occurs during first use. Ensure that the room is well
ventilated.
6.1 Before straightening
The hair should be clean, dry and free of styling products (except special
products that promote hair straightening).
Thoroughly comb the hair so that there are no knots in it.
Separate your hair into horizontal sections. Each section should be around the
width and thickness of a heating plate
1
.
Pin or clip the sections you are not working on out of the way.
6.2 Switching on/o and selecting a temperature
1. Connect the mains plug to an easily accessible socket.
2. Press and hold the control button
3
to switch on the hair straightener. The

3. To select another operating temperature, press the control button repeatedly
to cycle through the temperature settings and select a desired one. There are
five temperature settings: 130 °C, 150 °C, 170 °C, 190 °C and 210 °C. Once a
new temperature setting is selected, the indicator lights on the display flash until
the hair straightener has reached the newly selected operating temperature.
Below are recommended settings. If you are unsure, start with a lower
temperature and increase the temperature as necessary.
Temperature Hair type
130 °C / 150 °C Fine, damaged or chemically treated
170 °C / 190 °C Normal
210 °C Thick, curly, not chemically treated
4. To switch o the hair straightener, press and hold the control button until all
indicator lights on the temperature display go out. For safety purposes, the hair
straightener will automatically shut down after 1 hour (Auto Shut O Protection)
in case you forget to switch it o.

long. You may singe your hair!
1. Prepare the hair as described in the chapter “Before straightening.
2. Switch on the hair straightener and select a desired operating temperature (see
chapter “Switching on/o and selecting a temperature”).
3. Take a hair section and pull it taut by holding its end tightly between your index
and middle finger of the hand that is NOT holding the hair straightener.
4. Clamp the hair section near the root by pressing the heating plates
1
together.

3
to switch the hair
straightener o.
