Safety

WARNING!

It is hazardous for anyone other than authorised service personnel to

carry out servicing or repairs which involves the removal of covers.

To avoid the risk of an electric shock do not attempt to repair this appli-

ance yourself.

If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer,

its service agent, or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a

hazard.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)

with reduced sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and

knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction

concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their

safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play

with the appliance.

Disposal

Old appliances still have some residual value. An environmentally

friendly method of disposal will ensure that valuable raw materials can

be recovered and used again. The refrigerant used in your appliance

and insulation materials require special disposal procedures. Ensure

that none of the pipes on the back of the appliance are damaged prior

to disposal. Up to date information concerning options for disposing of

your old appliance and packaging from the new one can be obtained

from your local council ofce.

Locks

If your larder is tted with a lock, to prevent children being entrapped

keep the key out of the reach and not in the vicinity of the appliance.

If disposing of an old larder break off any old locks or latches as a

safeguard.

Installation

Location

When selecting a position for your Appliance you should make sure

the oor is at and rm, and the room is well ventilated with an

average room temperature of between 16ºC and 32ºC. Locate the

appliance away from direct sunlight and source of heat (stove, heater,

radiator, etc.). Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat

sources may increase electrical consumption. Extreme cold ambient

temperatures may also cause the appliance not to perform properly.

This unit is not designed for use in a garage or any other outside

installation. Avoid locating the appliance in moist areas. It must there-

fore be installed so that the Appliance has at least 10cm (2.5”) if free

space and the sides have 2cm (3/4”). The Appliance door can either

open to the right or the left, depending on whichever suits you. See

page 5 if you want to reverse the door swing. Do not drape your Appli-

ance with any covering.

Moving the appliance

Position your appliance in front of its nal operating position and gentle

slide the appliance into position.

A minimum of two persons must be used to move the appliance.

Leveling the Under Counter Larder

Remove the packaging support form the base of the

appliance and replace with the 2 leveling feet. Make

sure the appliance is level. Use the leveling feet at the

front. If the appliance is not level, the doors and

magnetic seal alignments will be affected.

Cleaning before use

Wipe the inside of the appliance with a weak solution of bicarbonate

soda. Then rinse with warm water using a damp sponge or cloth.

Wash the baskets and shelves in warm soapy water and dry com-

pletely before replacing in the larder. The external parts of the larder

can be cleaned with wax polish. If you require more information, refer

to Cleaning on page 9.

Before plugging in YOU MUST

Check that you have a socket which is compatible with the plug sup-

plied with the appliance. If not, please consult a qualied technician for

assistance.

Before switching on!

DO NOT SWITCH ON UNTIL TWO HOURS AFTER MOVING THE

LARDER.

The coolant uid needs time to settle.

• Ensure the appliance is un-

plugged and empty.

• Adjust the two leveling feet to

their highest position.

• We recommend you have

someone to assist you.

Tools required

• Phillips style screwdriver

• Flat bladed screwdriver

• Hexagonal Spanner

NOTE: Take the door off it is

necessary to tilt the

larder backward. You

should rest the larder

on something solid and

place something under

the rollers so that it will

not slip during the door

change process.

DO NOT lay the larder

completely at as this

may damage the coolant

system.

Reverse the door swing

1. Tilt the unit carefully. 2 people are

required to tilt the unit during the door

reversing process.

2. Remove the screws and hinge bracket

from the base.

3. Slide the door down and remove away

from the unit.

4. Remove the top hinge pin inside the

door and refit on the opposite side.

5. Slide the door back on to the top hinge.

Screw the bottom hinge into place on

the new side.

6. Check that the door is aligned

horizontally and vertically and that the

seals are closed on all sides before finally

tightening the bottom hinge. Re-adjust

the levelling feet.

Get Started

Switching on your under counter larder

1. Before connecting the appliance to the mains supply make sure

that the Thermostat Control Dial is set at position 0. This is located

on the right inside of the cabinet.

2. Turn the thermostat knob clockwise to set it to the desired position,

bear in mind that the higher the number, the colder the tempera-

ture.

3. To ensure the appliance is cool enough to sufciently chill your

food wait 24 hours before lling with food.

Adjusting the temperature

The internal temperature of you’re

appliance is controlled by a thermo-

stat. Position 7 makes the appli-

ances coldest. Position 1 makes it

the warmest and 0 turns the appli-

ance Off.

The recommended setting for the appliance is between 1 and 4 for

colder working environments. (ie. during Winter) and 5-6 for hotter

environments. The appliance may not operate correctly if it is in a

particularly hot or cold room or the door is opened often.

Noises inside the under counter larder!

If you have not owned an appliance before, you may notice that it

makes some rather unusual noises.

Most of these are perfectly normal, but you should be aware of them!

GURGLING, WHOOSHING

These noises are caused by the circulation of the refrigerant liquid

in the cooling system. It has become more pronounced since the

introduction of CFC free gases. This is not a fault and will not affect

the performance of your appliance.

HUMMING, PURRING OR PULSATING

This is the compressor motor working, as it pumps the refrigerant

around the system.

Is the Under Counter Larder cold enough?

If you are at all concerned that

your appliance is not being kept

cold enough, or you occasionally

wish to check the temperature,

you can purchase a Fridge/Freez-

er thermometer.

These are available from most supermarkets and hardware shops.

Place the thermometer in the coldest part of your appliance (located

at the back for the fridge, below the shelf), where it can be easily read.

Leave overnight; the correct temperature should be between 0ºC and

5ºC. See ‘Adjusting the temperature’.

Shopping for chilled foods

Don’t buy it in your lunch hour!

Unless you have an appliance at work to keep the food cold in the

afternoon, leaving food in your car or at room temperature for a pro-

longed period of time could raise food temperature to dangerous level

allowing harmful bacteria to grow.

Keep chilled foods together

Try to keep chilled food together whilst shopping and on the journey

home as this will help to keep the food cooler.

Use a cool bag

Special insulated bags can be bought from most supermarkets and

hardware shops. These keep food cold for longer, but are only for get-

ting chilled foods home, not storing it.

Unwrap as soon as you get home

Always unpack and place chilled foods in the appliance before storing

dry food stuffs.

Tips for keeping food perfect in the under counter larder

Take extra care with meat and sh

Cooked meats should always be stored on a shelf above raw meats

to avoid bacterial transfer. Keep raw meats on a plate which is large

enough to collect juices and cover it with cling lm or foil.

Less space around food

This allows could air to circulate around the appliance, ensuring all

parts of the appliance are kept cool.

Wrap up food!

To prevent transfer of avors and drying out, food should be separately

packed or covered. Frit and vegetables need not be wrapped.

Pre-cooked food should be cooled properly

Always let pre-cooked food cool down before you put in the appliance.

This will stop the internal temperature of the appliance from rising.

Shut the door!

To prevent cold air escaping, try to limit the number of times you open

the door. When returning from shopping, sort foods to be kept in your

appliance while the door is closed and only open it to put food in or

take food out.

NOTE: Always wrap and store raw meat, poultry and sh on the lowest

shelf at the bottom of the appliance. This will stop them dripping

onto or touching other foods. DO NOT STORE inammable

gases or liquids in the appliance.

Cleaning

Cleaning the outside of the under counter larder

1. Use standard furniture polish to clean the appliance exterior.

2. Make sure that the door is closed, preventing polish getting on

the magnetic door seal or inside on to the food. Do not use harsh

cleaners, scouring pads or solvents to clean any parrot of your

appliance, as this my scratch the enamel.

Cleaning the inside of the under counter larder

1. Make sure the larder has been turned off at the mains before

cleaning. The inside of the larder can be cleaned with a weak

solution of bicarbonate of soda.

2. Rise with a damp sponge and wipe dry.

3. Reconnect to the mains supply.

Cleaning Tips: Clean the larder when the food stocks are

low.

Maintenance

Leveling the under counter larder

Make sure the appliance is level. Use the rotating leveling feet at the

front. If the appliance is not level, the doors and magnetic seal align-

ments will be affected and may cause your appliance to work incor-

rectly.

Do Not Turn on the under counter larder for 2 hours

After the appliance has been placed, it needs to be left for 2 hours.

This allows time for the coolant to settle.

Servicing

Repairs and maintenance of the appliance should only be performed

by an authorised, qualied technician.

The under counter larder is not working

• Check it is plugged in and switched on.

• Check that the fuse in the plug, has not blown.

• Plug in another appliance, such as lamp to see if the socket is

working.

Condensation appears on the outside of the under counter

larder

This may be due to a change in the room temperature. Wipe off any

residue of moisture. If the problem continues call the customer service

department.

Noises

You may hear some unusual noise from time to time. See Noise inside

the appliance on page 6. However if your appliance begins to make

noises you have not heard before call the Customer Service Depart-

ment.

Moving your under counter larder

Care when handling

Hold the appliance around its sides or base when moving it. Under no

circumstance should it be lifted by holding the edges of the top surface.

Location

Do not place your appliance near a heat source, e.g. cooker, boiler or

radiator. Also avoid direct sunlight in outbuildings or sun lounges.

Changing the Internal Light

1. Before carrying out the bulb replacement

always press and turn the thermostat

control dial to Position 0, then disconnect

the mains supply.

2. Hold and uncrew the light bulb cover.

3. Remove the plastic light blub cover.

4. Remove the old bulb by unscrewing in an anti-clockwise direction.

5. Replace with a new blub (10W SES). Please make sure that it is

secure in the bulb cover.

6. Ret the translucent light cover and reconnect your larder to the

mains supply and switch on.

Montering

Plassering

Når du velger en plassering for ditt nye apparat, bør du sørge for at

gulvet er att og sikkert, og at rommet er godt ventilert med en gjen-

nomsnittlig romtemperatur på mellom 16 ºC og 32 ºC. Plasser appa-

ratet borte fra direkte sollys og varmekilder (komfyr, ovn, radiator osv.)

Direkte sollys kan skade akrylbelegget og varmekilder kan øke strøm-

forbruket. Ekstremt kalde temperaturer i omgivelsene kan også føre til

at apparatet ikke fungerer som det skal.

Denne enheten er ikke designet for bruk i en garasje eller noen annen

utendørs installasjon. Unngå å plassere apparatet på fuktige steder.

Det må installeres slik at apparatet har minst 10 cm (2,5”) klaring rundt

seg og sidene har 2 cm (3/4”) klaring. Apparatets dør kan enten åpnes

til høyre eller venstre, avhengig av hva som passer deg. Se side 5 hvis

du ønsker at døren skal gå motsatt vei. Ikke bre noen form for deksel

over apparatet.

Flytte apparatet

Anbring apparatet foran stedet der det skal plasseres og skyv appara-

tet forsiktig på plass.

Minst to personer må til for å ytte apparatet.

Bringe det Frittstående Kjøleskapet i vater

Fjern emballasjen fra bunnen av apparatet og erstatt med de 2 jus-

teringsføttene. Sørg for at apparatet er i vater. Bruk

justeringsføttene foran. Hvis apparatet ikke er i vater, vil

det ha innvirkning på dørene og de magnetiske lukke-

mekanismene.

Rengjøring før bruk

Tørk av innsiden av apparatet med en svak natronoppløsning.

Skyll deretter med varmt vann ved hjelp av en fuktig svamp eller klut.

Vask kurvene og hyllene i varmt såpevann, og la dem tørke helt før du

setter dem inn i kjøleskapet igjen. De utvendige delene av kjøleskapet

kan rengjøres med bonevoks. Hvis du vil ha mer informasjon, se delen

om rengjøring på side 9.

Før du setter i kontakten, MÅ DU

kontrollere at du har en stikkontakt som er forenlig med støpselet som

følger med apparatet. Hvis ikke, rådfør deg med en kvalisert tekniker

for hjelp.

Merk: Ta døren av hvis det er

nødvendig for å vippe

3. Skyv døren ned og fjern den fra enheten.

4. Fjern den øvre hengselpinnen og sett på

motsatt siden.

5. Skyv døren tilbake igjen på det øvre

hengslet. Skru det nedre hengslet på

plass på den nye siden.

6. Se etter at døren har riktig innretning

både vannrett og loddrett samt at

forseglingene er lukket på alle sidene før

du til slutt strammer det nedre hengslet.

Juster nivåføttene på nytt.

Slå kjøleskapet på

1. Før du setter støpselet i stikkontakten, sørg for at termostaten står

på 0. Du nner den til høyre på innsiden av kjøleskapet.

2. Skru termostatbryteren med klokken for å stille den til ønsket

posisjon. Husk at jo høyere tall du stiller den til, jo kaldere blir

temperaturen.

3. For å sikre at apparatet er kaldt nok til å fryse maten din skikkelig,

vent i 24 timer før du fyller den med mat.

Justere temperaturen

Den innvendige temperaturen i

apparatet ditt kontrolleres av en

termostat. Posisjon 7 gjør apparatet

kaldest. Posisjon 1 gjør det varmest

og 0 slår apparatet av.

Anbefalt posisjon er mellom 1 og

4, for kalde omgivelser (for eksempel om vinteren) og 5-6 i varme

omgivelser. Det er ikke sikkert apparatet fungerer som det skal hvis

det er i et spesielt kaldt eller varmt rom eller hvis døren åpnes ofte

eller i lengre perioder.

Lyder inne i kjøleskapet!

Hvis du ikke har eid et kjøleskap eller en fryseboks før, kan du legge

merke til at de lager noen uvanlige lyder.

De este av disse er helt normale, men du bør være oppmerksom på

dem.

KLUKKING, SUSING

Disse lydene forårsakes av kjølevæskens sirkulasjon i kjølesystemet.

De har blitt mer hørbare etter introduksjonen av KFK-frie gasser.

Dette er ikke en feil og vil ikke påvirke apparatets ytelse.

DURING, SUMMING ELLER VIBRERING

Dette er kompressormotoren som arbeider; den pumper kjølevæsken

rundt i systemet.

Er kjøleskapet kaldt nok?

Hvis du er bekymret for om appa-

ratet er kaldt nok, eller du ønsker

å kontrollere temperaturen nå og

da, kan du kjøpe et termometer

for kjøleskap/fryseboks.

Disse er tilgjengelige i de este

supermarkeder og jernvarehandler. Plasser termometeret i den kald-

este delen av apparatet (bakerst i kjøleskapet, under hyllen) slik at det

er lett å lese av. La det stå over natten – riktig temperatur skal være

mellom 0 ºC og 5 ºC. Se avsnittet ”Justere temperaturen”.

Handle avkjølt mat

Ikke kjøp det i lunsjen!

Med mindre du har et apparat på jobben der du kan holde maten kald

om ettermiddagen, kan det å la mat stå i bilen eller i romtemperatur i

en lengre tidsperiode heve mattemperaturen til et farlig nivå og tillate

vekst av skadelige bakterier.

Oppbevar avkjølt mat sammen

Prøv å oppbevare avkjølt mat sammen mens du handler og på hjem-

reisen, da dette vil bidra til å holde maten kjøligere.

Bruk en kjølebag

Spesielle isolerte poser kan kjøpes fra de este supermarkeder og

jernvarehandler. Disse holder maten kald lenger, men er kun ment for

å frakte kald mat hjem, ikke oppbevare den.

Pakk den opp så snart du kommer hjem

Pakk alltid opp avkjølt mat og plasser den i kjøleskapet før du pakker

ut tørrvarer.

Tips for å bevare maten i det Frittstående Kjøleskapet

Vær ekstra forsiktig med kjøtt og sk

Kokt kjøtt skal alltid lagres på hyllen over rått kjøtt for å unngå bakter-

ieoverføring. Legg rått kjøtt på en tallerken som er stor nok til å samle

opp væsker og dekk det til med plast- eller aluminiumsfolie.
