Intended use
This appliance is intended exclusively for vacuuming cold ashes, fi ne dust and
suction-capable materials from fi replaces, wood-coal stoves, ash trays or grills
and is intended only for domestic use. This appliance is not suitable for the
vacuuming-up of liquids, soot and plaster or cement dust, or the vacuuming out
of oil fi red boilers or furnaces. The vacuuming of hot ash as well as combustible,
explosive or hazardous substances and dusts (dust class L, M, H) is strictly
prohibited. This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond
those mentioned.

Risks can be engendered by the appliance if it is used for unintended purposes
and/or other types of use.
Use the appliance exclusively for its intended purposes.
Observe the procedures described in these operating instructions.
Claims of an
y kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be

of the appliance.
This appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect usage can

Risks from electrical current

Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:
Before use check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not put into
oper
ation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped.
If the appliance‘s mains power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufactur
er, the manufacturer‘s customer service department or by a qualifi ed
technician so that risks can be avoided.
This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with
r
estricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or defi ciences in experience
and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their
safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Humans and animals may not be vacuumed with this appliance.
Repairs should only be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the
Customer Ser
vice Department. Incompetent repairs can result in signifi cant risks
for the user. In addition, warranty claims become void.
Repairs to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried out by
a Customer Ser
vice Department authorised by the manufacturer, otherwise, no
additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages.
Defective components may only be replaced with original replacement parts.
Only b
y using original replacement parts can it be guaranteed that the safety
requirements are being complied with.
Protect the appliance against moisture and the penetration of liquids.
Do not use the appliance in wet or moist environments.
Always disconnect the power cable from the mains power socket by pulling on
the plug, ne
ver pull on the cable.
In the event of malfunctions and during thunderstorms, disconnect the plug from
the mains po
wer socket.
The mains power socket must be easily accessable so that the power cable can
be easily disconnected in an emer
gency.
Do not vacuum up hot, glowing, fl ammable, explosive or hazardous substances
or par
ticulates (dust classes L, M, H). These include hot ashes, petrol, solvents,
acids or alkalis. There would be a risk of fi re and personal injury.
Do not vacuum up fi ne ignitable dust, it may explode.
Do not vacuum up hot ashes and hot, glowing or burning objects such as char-
coal, cigar
ettes, etc. This would increase the risk of fi re!

The material to be vacuumed must not exceed a temperature of 40°C. Material
to be vacuumed which looks cooled from the outside can still be hot inside. The
material to be vacuumed can ignite itself again in the air fl ow and damage the
appliance.
Do not vacuum up liquids, soot or plaster and cement dust. The appliance could
be damaged b
y them.
Vacuum only the ash from permitted fuels.
Before and after vacuuming, empty and clean the metal container so as to prevent
the accumulation of materials that could pose a fi
re risk in the vacuum cleaner.
Ensure that the appliance is assembled correctly and the fi lter is in the correct
position.
When vacuuming, do not place the appliance on heat sensitive fl oors. When
cleaning fi
replaces or grills, use a heatproof underlay.
Do not extinguish hot ash particles with water, the sudden temperature diff erences
that can arise could cause cr
acks in your chimney.

NOTICE
Check the contents to ensure everything is available and for signs of visible
damage.
If the contents are not complete or are damaged due to defective packaging
o
r through transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see Service).
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and
reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that is
no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
If possible, preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty
period so that, in the e
vent of a warranty claim, you can pack the appli-
ance ideally for its return.
Electrical connection
For safe and faultless operation of the appliance after making the electrical con-
nection, pay heed to the following instructions:
TAKE NOTE
Before connecting the appliance compare the connection data (voltage
and fr
equency) on the rating plate with that of your mains power supply.
This data must tally so as to avoid damage to the appliance.
Ensure that the mains power cable is not damaged and is not running over
hot surfaces and/or sharp edges.
Ensure that the mains power cable is not taut or knotted.

Handling and operation
In this chapter you receive important information about the handling and opera-
tion of the appliance.
Switching the appliance on and off
Insert the power plug into a mains wall socket.
To switch the appliance on, place the On/Off switch

at the position "ON".
To switch the appliance off , place the On/Off switch

at the position "OFF".
Optimal working procedures
WARNING
The vacuuming up of glowing ash and combustible, explosive or health
hazar
dous materials is strictly prohibited.
Only vacuum cold ashes. Cold ash is ash, which has cooled for suffi ciently
long and contains no ember
s. This can be determined by combing over the
ash with a metal tool before the appliance is used. From cold ash there is
no perceptible heat radiation.
Place the appliance on a level and heat-resistant surface.
Always use the suction pipe

for vacuuming. Hold the suction pipe

at
a distance of approximately 1 cm above the ashes.
Vacuum only ashes cooled to below 40°C.
When vacuuming, constantly check the metal container

Cleaning and care
DANGER
Before working on the appliance, disconnect the plug. There will be the risk

IMPORTANT
Penetrating moisture can lead to the appliance becoming damaged.
In order to avoid irreparable damage to it, ensure that no moisture gets

ou are cleaning the appliance.
Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, as these can damage
the upper sur
faces.
Cleaning the appliance
Clean the appliance after every use.
To avoid unnecessary soiling, always do the cleaning outdoors.
Remove the container lid

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The
appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before
delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty claim,
please make contact by telephone with our Customer Service Department. Only
in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
NOTICE
The warranty covers only claims for material and manufacturing defects,
but not for tr
ansport damage, wearing parts or for damage to fragile
components, e.g. buttons or batteries.
This product is for domestic use only and is not intended for commercial use. The
warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and
internal tampering not carried out by our authorised service branch.
Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. The warranty
period is not extended by repairs made under the warranty. This applies also to
replaced and repaired parts.
Damages and defects extant at the time of purchase must be reported immedi-
ately after unpacking, resp. no later than two days after the date of purchase.
