Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:
■ Before use check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not put into
oper
ation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped.
■ If the appliance‘s mains power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufactur
er, the manufacturer‘s customer service department or by a qualifi ed
technician so that risks can be avoided.
■ This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with
r
estricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or defi ciences in experience
and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their
safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used.
■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
■ Humans and animals may not be vacuumed with this appliance.
■ Repairs should only be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the
Customer Ser
vice Department. Incompetent repairs can result in signifi cant risks
for the user. In addition, warranty claims become void.
■ Repairs to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried out by
a Customer Ser
vice Department authorised by the manufacturer, otherwise, no
additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages.
■ Defective components may only be replaced with original replacement parts.
Only b
y using original replacement parts can it be guaranteed that the safety
requirements are being complied with.
■ Protect the appliance against moisture and the penetration of liquids.
■ Do not use the appliance in wet or moist environments.
■ Always disconnect the power cable from the mains power socket by pulling on
the plug, ne
ver pull on the cable.
■ In the event of malfunctions and during thunderstorms, disconnect the plug from
the mains po
wer socket.
■ The mains power socket must be easily accessable so that the power cable can
be easily disconnected in an emer
gency.
■ Do not vacuum up hot, glowing, fl ammable, explosive or hazardous substances
or par
ticulates (dust classes L, M, H). These include hot ashes, petrol, solvents,
acids or alkalis. There would be a risk of fi re and personal injury.
■ Do not vacuum up fi ne ignitable dust, it may explode.
■ Do not vacuum up hot ashes and hot, glowing or burning objects such as char-
coal, cigar
ettes, etc. This would increase the risk of fi re!
