Læs denne brugsanvisning igennem (inkl.

tips og advarsler), før apparatet installeres og

tages i brug. Det forebygger ulykker og sik-

rer, at apparatet bruges korrekt. For at undgå

unødvendige fejl og uheld er det vigtigt at

sikre, at alle, der bruger apparatet, er fuldt

oner. Gem denne vejledning og sørg for, at

Sikkerhed for børn og udsatte personer

• Apparatet er ikke beregnet til at bruges af

personer (herunder børn) med nedsat fy-

sisk, sensorisk eller psykisk funktionsevne,

eller som mangler den nødvendige erfaring

eller viden, med mindre den, der har an-

svaret for deres sikkerhed, først har instru-

eret dem eller har kontrolleret, at de kan

betjene det korrekt.

Hold øje med børn for at sikre, at de ikke

leger med apparatet.

• Hold alle emballagedele væk fra børn. Der

er fare for kvælning.

• Hvis du kasserer apparatet: Tag stikket ud

af kontakten, klip netledningen af (så tæt

på apparatet som muligt) og fjern døren,

så børn ikke kan få elektrisk stød eller

smække sig inde i apparatet under leg.

• Hvis dette apparat, der har magnetlås, er-

statter et ældre apparat med fjederlås (lås

med låsetunge) på døren eller i låget: Sørg

for at ødelægge fjederlåsen på det gamle

apparat, inden du kasserer det. Det sikrer,

at det ikke kan blive en dødsfælde for et

barn.

Generelt om sikkerhed

Bemærk Ventilationsåbningerne må

ikke blokeres.

• Apparatet er beregnet til opbevaring af

madvarer og/eller drikkevarer i en almin-

delig husholdning, som forklaret i denne

brugsanvisning.

• Brug ikke mekaniske redskaber eller andre

kunstige hjælpemidler til at fremskynde

optøningen.

• Brug ikke andre el-apparater (f.eks. isma-

skiner) inde i køleudstyr, med mindre de er

godkendt til formålet af producenten.

• Kølekredsløbet må ikke beskadiges.

• Apparatets kølekreds indeholder kølemid-

let isobutan (R600a), en naturlig gas med

høj biologisk nedbrydelighed. Det er dog

brandfarligt.

Sørg for, at ingen af kølekredsens kompo-

nenter kan tage skade under transport og

installation af apparatet.

Hvis kølekredsen skulle blive beskadiget:

– Undgå åben ild og antændelseskilder

– Luft grundigt ud i det lokale, hvor appa-

ratet står

• Det er farligt at ændre apparatets specifi-

kationer eller forsøge at ombygge det på

nogen måde. Enhver skade på ledningen

kan give kortslutning, brand og/eller elek-

trisk stød.

Advarsel Enhver elektrisk komponent

(netledning, stik, kompressor) skal ud-

skiftes af et autoriseret serviceværksted

eller en autoriseret montør.

1. Netledningen må ikke forlænges.

2. Pas på, at stikket ikke bliver klemt eller

beskadiget af apparatets bagpanel. Et

klemt eller beskadiget stik kan blive

overophedet og starte en brand.

3. Sørg for, at apparatets netstik er let at

komme til.

4. Træk ikke i netledningen.

5. Sæt ikke stikket i kontakten, hvis kon-

takten sidder løst. Fare for elektrisk

stød eller brand.

6. Der må ikke tændes for apparatet, hvis

lampedækslet ikke sidder på

den

indvendige pære.

• Apparatet er tungt. Der skal udvises stor

forsigtighed ved flytning af apparatet.

• Rør ikke ved ting fra frostafdelingen med

fugtige eller våde hænder. Det kan give

hudafskrabninger eller forfrysninger.

• Undgå at udsætte skabet for direkte sollys

i længere tid.

Daglig brug

• Sæt ikke en varm gryde på apparatets

plastdele.

• Opbevar ikke brandfarlig gas og væske i

apparatet, da de kan eksplodere.

• Følg nøje producentens angivelser vedr.

opbevaring af produktet. Se de relevante

vejledninger.

Vedligeholdelse og rengøring

• Inden rengøring slukkes der for apparatet,

og stikket tages ud af kontakten.

•Brug ikke metalgenstande til at rengøre

apparatet.

• Efterse jævnlig afløbet i køleskabet for af-

rimningsvand. Rens afløbet efter behov.

Hvis afløbet er blokeret, ophobes der vand

i bunden af apparatet.

Installation

Vigtigt Ved tilslutning til lysnet skal

vejledningen i de pågældende afsnit nøje

følges.

• Pak apparatet ud, og efterse det for ska-

der. Tilslut ikke apparatet, hvis det er be-

skadiget. Eventuelle skader på apparatet

skal straks anmeldes til det sted, hvor det

er købt. Gem i så fald emballagen.

• Det anbefales at vente mindst to timer med

at tilslutte apparatet, så olien har tid til at

løbe tilbage i kompressoren.

• Der skal være tilstrækkelig luftudskiftning

rundt om apparatet. Ellers bliver det over-

ophedet. Følg installationsvejledningen for

at sikre tilstrækkelig ventilation.

• Så vidt det overhovedet er muligt skal ap-

paratets bagside stå op mod en væg, så

man ikke kan komme til at røre eller hænge

fast i varme dele (kompressor, kondensa-

tor), med risiko for at brænde sig.

• Apparatet må ikke stilles tæt på radiatorer

eller komfurer.

• Sørg for, at det er muligt at komme til net-

stikket, når apparatet er installeret.

• Tilslut kun til drikkevandsledning (vand-

værksvand).

Service

• Alt el-arbejde, der kræves til vedligeholdel-

se af apparatet, skal udføres af en autori-

seret el-installatør.

• Dette produkt må kun serviceres af et

autoriseret serviceværksted, og der må

kun bruges originale reservedele.

Miljøhensyn

Apparatet indeholder ikke gasser, der

kan nedbryde ozonlaget, hverken i køle-

kreds eller isoleringsmaterialer. Appara-

tet må ikke bortskaffes sammen med

husholdningsaffald og jordfyld. Isole-

ringsskummet indeholder brændbare

gasser: Apparatet skal bortskaffes i hen-

hold til gældende bestemmelser. Nær-

mere oplysninger fås hos kommunens

tekniske forvaltning. Undgå at beskadi-

ge køleenheden, især på bagsiden ved

siden af varmeveksleren. De materialer i

apparatet, der er mærket med symbolet

, kan genvanvendes.

Betjening

Tænde

Sæt stikket i stikkontakten.

Drej termostatknappen med uret til en mel-

lemindstilling.

Slukning

Sluk for apparatet ved at dreje termostat-

knappen til stilling "O".

Temperaturindstilling

Temperaturen reguleres automatisk.

Apparatet betjenes på følgende måde:

• Drej termostatknappen mod lavere indstil-

linger for at vælge minimum køling.

• Drej termostatknappen mod højere indstil-

linger for at vælge maksimal køling.

I reglen er en mellemindstilling mest pas-

sende.

Når den præcise indstilling vælges, skal man

dog huske på, at temperaturen i apparatet

afhænger af:

• Rumtemperaturen

• Hvor tit døren åbnes

• Mængden af mad

• Skabets placering.

Vigtigt Hvis den omgivende temperatur er

høj eller skabet er helt fyldt, og

termostatknappen står på det koldeste trin,

kan kompressoren køre konstant, så der

dannes rim eller is på bagvæggen. Hvis det

sker, sættes termostatknappen på en højere

temperatur, så den automatiske afrimning

starter, og strømforbruget dermed falder.

Ibrugtagning

Indvendig rengøring

Inden apparatet tages i brug vaskes det ind-

vendig (inkl. tilbehør) med lunkent vand tilsat

neutral sæbe for at fjerne den typiske lugt af

nyt apparat. Tør grundigt efter.

Vigtigt Brug ikke sulfosæbe eller skuremid-

del. Det vil skade overfladen.

Daglig brug

Flytbare hylder

Køleskabets vægge har en række skinner, så

hylderne kan placeres efter ønske.

Isætning af hylder i dør

Hylderne i døren kan sættes i forskellig højde,

så der er plads til madvarer af forskellig stør-

relse.

De indstilles på følgende måde:

Træk gradvis hylden i pilenes retning, til den

slipper. Sæt den på det ønskede sted.

Nyttige oplysninger og råd

Normale driftslyde

• Undertiden kan der høres en svag gurglen

eller boblen, når kølemidlet pumpes gen-

nem spiralerne eller rørene. Det er normalt.

• Når kompressoren kører, pumpes køle-

midlet rundt, og der kommer en snurrende

og pulserende lyd fra kompressoren. Det

er normalt.

• Varmeudvidelsen kan give pludselige

knæklyde. Det er et naturligt og ufarligt fy-

sisk fænomen. Det er normalt.

• Når kompressoren tænder og slukker kan

der høres et svagt klik fra termostatknap-

pen. Det er normalt.

Energisparetips

• Åbn døren så lidt som muligt, og lad den

ikke stå åben længere end højst nødven-

digt.

• Hvis den omgivende temperatur er høj,

termostatknappen står på det koldeste

trin, og skabet er helt fyldt, kan kompres-

soren køre konstant, så der dannes rim el-

ler is på fordamperen. Hvis det sker, sæt-

tes knappen på en lavere indstilling, så den

automatiske afrimning starter, og strøm-

forbruget dermed falder.

Råd om køling af friske madvarer

Sådan holder maden sig bedst:

• Sæt ikke dampende varm mad eller drikke

i køleskabet

• Læg låg på maden eller pak den ind, især

hvis den lugter stærkt

• Placer maden, så luften kan cirkulere frit

rundt om den

Råd om køling

Nyttige tip:

Kød (alle slags): Pakkes ind i polyætylenpo-

ser og lægges på glashylden over grøntsags-

skuffen.

Det er kun sikkert at opbevare kød på denne

måde i 1-2 dage.

Tilberedt mad, pålæg, kolde retter og lignen-

de: Bør pakkes ind og kan stilles på alle hyl-

der.

Frugt og grønt: Bør rengøres grundigt og

lægges i den/de særlige skuffe(r).

Smør og ost: Bør lægges i specielle lufttætte

beholdere eller pakkes ind i alufolie eller po-

lyætylenposer, så luften holdes bedst muligt

ude.

Mælkeflasker: Bør have låg på og opbevares

i flaskehylden i døren.

Bananer, kartofler, løg og hvidløg behøver ik-

ke at lægges i køleskab, med mindre de er

pakket ind.

Vedligeholdelse og rengøring

Bemærk Kobl apparatet fra

strømforsyningen, før der udføres nogen

som helst form for vedligeholdelse.

Apparatets kølesystem indeholder klor-

brinter; Service og påfyldning må derfor

kun udføres af en autoriseret tekniker.

Regelmæssig rengøring

Apparatet skal jævnlig rengøres:

• Vask det indvendig (inkl. tilbehør) med lun-

kent vand tilsat neutral sæbe.

• Efterse jævnlig dørpakningerne, og tør

dem af, så de er rene og fri for belægnin-

ger.

• Skyl og tør grundigt af.

Vigtigt Undgå at trække i, flytte eller

beskadige evt. rør og/eller ledninger i skabet.

Brug aldrig sulfosæbe, skurepulver, stærkt

parfumeret rengøringsmiddel eller vokspro-

dukter til indvendig rengøring af skabet. Det

skader overfladen og efterlader kraftig lugt.

Rens kondensatoren (det sorte gitter) og

kompressoren bag på skabet med en børste

eller støvsuger. Det øger apparatets ydeevne

og sparer strøm.

Vigtigt Pas på ikke at beskadige

kølesystemet.

Mange rengøringsmidler til køkkener inde-

holder kemikalier, der kan angribe og evt.

beskadige de anvendte plastmaterialer i ap-

paratet. Derfor anbefales det, at kabinettet

udvendig kun rengøres med varmt vand tilsat

lidt opvaskemiddel.

Sæt stikket i stikkontakten efter rengøringen.

Afrimning af køleskabet

Under normal drift afrimes fordamperen i kø-

leafdelingen automatisk, hver gang motor-

kompressoren standser. Afrimningsvandet

ledes ud gennem en rende og ned i en særlig

beholder bag på apparatet (over motorkom-

pressoren), hvor det fordamper.

Afløbet til afrimningsvand sidder midt i ren-

den i køleafdelingen. Det skal jævnlig renses,

så vandet ikke løber over og drypper ned på

maden i skabet. Brug den medfølgende spe-

cial-flaskerenser, der sidder i afløbshullet ved

leveringen.

Pause i brug

Tag følgende forholdsregler, når apparatet

ikke skal bruges i længere tid:

• Tag stikket ud af stikkontakten

• Tag al maden ud

•

Afrim

og rengør apparatet inkl. alt tilbehør

• Lad døren/dørene stå på klem for at fore-

bygge ubehagelig lugt.

Hvis der skal være tændt for skabet: Bed no-

gen se til det en gang imellem, så maden ikke

bliver fordærvet, hvis der har været strøms-

vigt.

Når der opstår fejl

Advarsel Inden fejlfinding skal stikket

tages ud af kontakten.

Fejl, der ikke er nævnt i denne brugsan-

visning, må kun afhjælpes af en autori-

seret installatør eller anden fagmand.

Installation

Læs afsnittet "Sikkerhedsoplysninger"

omhyggeligt, før apparatet installeres for

at forebygge ulykker, og sikre at det

bruges korrekt.

Placering

Apparatet skal installeres et sted, hvor rum-

temperaturen passer til den opgivne klima-

klasse på apparatets typeskilt:

Nivellering

Ved opstillingen skal det sikres, at apparatet

er i vater. Det gøres med to justeringsfødder

i bunden, under apparatets forkant (2). Juster

evt. foden ved at fjerne skiven (1).

Placering

Apparatet bør placeres i god afstand fra var-

mekilder som radiatorer, kedler, direkte sol-

lys osv. Sørg for, at luften kan cirkulere frit

omkring kabinettets bagside. Hvis apparatet

placeres under et overskab, skal der mindst

være en afstand på 100 mm mellem appa-

ratets topplade og skabet. Ellers arbejder det

ikke optimalt. Ideelt bør skabet dog ikke pla-

ceres under overskabe. Apparatet kan sæt-

tes præcis i vater med en eller flere af de ju-

sterbare fødder i bunden af kabinettet.

Hvis skabet skal stå i et hjørne, med hængs-

elsiden mod væggen, skal der mindst være

10 mm til væggen, så døren kan åbnes så

meget, at hylderne kan tages ud.

Advarsel Det skal være muligt at koble

apparatet fra lysnettet; Der skal derfor

være let adgang til stikket efter

installationen.

Vending af dør

Vigtigt Under de følgende operationer er det

en god idé at få en hjælper til at holde godt

fast i skabets døre, mens arbejdet udføres.

Døren vendes på følgende måde:

1. Tag stikket ud af kontakten.

2. VIp forsigtigt apparatet tilbage, så kom-

pressoren ikke rører gulvet.

3. Skru begge justeringsfødder af.

4. Skru skruerne i dørens nederste hæng-

sel ud. Tag hængslet af. Flyt tappen i pi-

lens retning.

5. Skru skruen ud, og skru den i modsatte

side.

6. Monter hængslet på modsatte side.

7. Skru de to justeringsfødder i.

8. Skru de to skruer på bagsiden ud.

9. Skub toppladen tilbage, og løft den væk

fra fastgørelsesdelene.

10. Skru skruerne i dørens øverste hængsel

ud.

11. Tag hængslet af. Flyt tappen i pilens ret-

ning. Monter hængslet på modsatte si-

de.

12. Stram dørhængslet.

13. Sæt toppladen på.

14. Træk den fremad.

15. Skru de to skruer på bagsiden i.

Fjern grebet, og montér det

på mod-

satte side.

17. Sæt skabet på plads, bring det i vater,

og vent mindst fire timer med at slutte

det til elnettet.

Slut med at kontrollere, at:

• alle skruer er strammet.

• døren åbner og lukker rigtigt.

Undertiden slutter pakningen ikke perfekt til

kabinettet, hvis omgivelserne er kolde (dvs.

om vinteren). Hvis dette er tilfældet: Paknin-

gen tilpasser sig efterhånden af sig selv.

Hvis du ikke selv vil vende døren, kan du

henvende dig til Electrolux Hvidevareservice

A/S. En tekniker vil herefter vende døren mod

betaling.

Elektrisk tilslutning

Inden tilslutning til lysnettet skal det kontrol-

leres, at spændingen og frekvensen på ty-

peskiltet svarer til boligens forsyningsstrøm.

Apparatet skal tilsluttes jord. Stikket på net-

ledningen har en kontakt til dette formål. Hvis

der ikke er jord på stikkontakten, tilsluttes

apparatet en særskilt jordforbindelse i h.t.

Stærkstrømsreglementet. Spørg en autori-

seret installatør til råds.

Producenten fralægger sig ethvert ansvar,

hvis de nævnte sikkerhedsregler ikke over-

holdes.

Apparatet er i overensstemmelse med EU-

direktiver.

Formålet med ekstrabeskyttelsen er at be-

skytte brugeren mod farlige elektriske stød i

tilfælde af fejl.

I boliger opført efter 1. april 1975 vil alle stik-

kontakter i køkken og eventuelt bryggers væ-

re omfattet af en ekstrabeskyttelse.

I boliger opført før 1. april 1975 er ekstrabe-

skyttelsen i orden, hvis der er installeret HFI-

afbryder, som beskytter den stikkontakt,

skabet skal forbindes til.

I begge disse tilfælde skal der, hvis stikkon-

takten er for trebenet stikprop, benyttes en

trebenet stikprop, og lederen med grøn-gul

isolation skal tilsluttes jordklemmen (mærket

), hv is stikkontakten kun er for tobenet

stikprop, benyttes en tobenet stikprop. Hvis

brugeren selv monterer denne, skal lederen

med grøn-gul isolation klippes så tæt som

muligt på det sted, hvor ledningen går ind i

stikproppen.

I alle andre tilfælde bør De lade en autoriseret

el-installatør undersøge, hvordan De nem-

mest får ekstrabeskyttet skabet.

Hvis De ikke har ekstrabeskyttelse i boligen i

forvejen, anbefaler Elektricitetsrådet, at De

lader elinstallat øren opsætte en HFI-afbry-

der.

Skån miljøet

Symbolet på produktet eller på pakken

angiver, at dette produkt ikke må behandles

som husholdningsaffald. Det skal i stedet

overgives til en affaldsstation for behandling

af elektrisk og elektronisk udstyr. Ved at

sørge for at dette produkt bliver bortskaffet

på den rette måde, hjælper du med til at

forebygge eventuelle negative påvirkninger af

miljøet og af personers helbred, der ellers

Safety information

In the interest of your safety and to ensure

the correct use, before installing and first us-

ing the appliance, read this user manual

carefully, including its hints and warnings. To

avoid unnecessary mistakes and accidents,

it is important to ensure that all people using

the appliance are thoroughly familiar with its

operation and safety features. Save these in-

Children and vulnerable people safety

• This appliance is not intended for use by

proved for this purpose by the manufac-

turer.

• Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

• The refrigerant isobutane (R600a) is con-

tained within the refrigerant circuit of the

appliance, a natural gas with a high level of

environmental compatibility, which is nev-

ertheless flammable.

During transportation and installation of

the appliance, be certain that none of the

components of the refrigerant circuit be-

come damaged.

If the refrigerant circuit should become

damaged:

– avoid open flames and sources of igni-

tion

– thoroughly ventilate the room in which

the appliance is situated

• It is dangerous to alter the specifications or

modify this product in any way. Any dam-

age to the cord may cause a short-circuit,

fire and/or electric shock.

Warning! Any electrical component

(power cord, plug, compressor) must be

replaced by a certified service agent or

qualified service personnel.

1. Power cord must not be lengthened.

2. Make sure that the power plug is not

squashed or damaged by the back of

the appliance. A squashed or dam-

aged power plug may overheat and

cause a fire.

3. Make sure that you can come to the

mains plug of the appliance.

4. Do not pull the mains cable.

5. If the power plug socket is loose, do

not insert the power plug. There is a

risk of electric shock or fire.

• This appliance is heavy. Care should be

taken when moving it.

• Do not remove nor touch items from the

freezer compartment if your hands are

damp/wet, as this could cause skin abra-

sions or frost/freezer burns.

ance to direct sunlight.

Daily use

• Do not put hot pot on the plastic parts in

the appliance.

• Do not store flammable gas and liquid in

the appliance, because they may explode.

• Appliance's manufacturers storage rec-

ommendations should be strictly adhered

to. Refer to relevant instructions.

Care and cleaning

• Before maintenance, switch off the appli-

ance and disconnect the mains plug from

the mains socket.

• Do not clean the appliance with metal ob-

jects.

• Regularly examine the drain in the refriger-

ator for defrosted water. If necessary,

clean the drain. If the drain is blocked, wa-

ter will collect in the bottom of the appli-

ance.

Installation

Important! For electrical connection

carefully follow the instructions given in

specific paragraphs.

• Unpack the appliance and check if there

are damages on it. Do not connect the ap-

pliance if it is damaged. Report possible

damages immediately to the place you

bought it. In that case retain packing.

• It is advisable to wait at least four hours

before connecting the appliance to allow

the oil to flow back in the compressor.

• Adequate air circulation should be around

the appliance, lacking this leads to over-

heating. To achieve sufficient ventilation

follow the instructions relevant to installa-

tion.

• Wherever possible the back of the product

should be against a wall to avoid touching

or catching warm parts (compressor, con-

denser) to prevent possible burn.

• The appliance must not be located close

to radiators or cookers.

• Make sure that the mains plug is accessi-

ble after the installation of the appliance.

•

Connect to potable water supply only.

Service

• Any electrical work required to do the serv-

icing of the appliance should be carried out

by a qualified electrician or competent per-

son.

• This product must be serviced by an au-

thorized Service Centre, and only genuine

spare parts must be used.

Environment Protection

This appliance does not contain gasses

which could damage the ozone layer, in

either its refrigerant circuit or insulation

materials. The appliance shall not be dis-

carded together with the urban refuse

and rubbish. The insulation foam con-

tains flammable gases: the appliance

shall be disposed according to the ap-

plicable regulations to obtain from your

local authorities. Avoid damaging the

cooling unit, especially at the rear near

the heat exchanger. The materials used

on this appliance marked by the symbol

are recyclable.

Operation

Switching on

Insert the plug into the wall socket.

Turn the Temperature regulator clockwise to

a medium setting.

Switching off

To turn off the appliance, turn the Tempera-

ture regulator to the "O" position.

Temperature regulation

The temperature is automatically regulated.

To operate the appliance, proceed as fol-

lows:

• turn the Temperature regulator toward

lower settings to obtain the minimum cold-

ness.

• turn the Temperature regulator toward

higher settings to obtain the maximum

coldness.

A medium setting is generally the most

suitable.

However, the exact setting should be chosen

keeping in mind that the temperature inside

the appliance depends on:

• room temperature

• how often the door is opened

• the quantity of food stored

• the location of the appliance.

Important! If the ambient temperature is

high or the appliance is fully loaded, and the

appliance is set to the lowest temperatures,

it may run continuously causing frost to form

on the rear wall. In this case the dial must be

set to a higher temperature to allow

automatic defrosting and therefore reduced

energy consumption.

First use

Cleaning the interior

Before using the appliance for the first time,

wash the interior and all internal accessories

with lukewarm water and some neutral soap

so as to remove the typical smell of a brand-

new product, then dry thoroughly.

Important! Do not use detergents or abra-

sive powders, as these will damage the fin-

ish.

Daily use

Movable shelves

The walls of the refrigerator are equipped

with a series of runners so that the shelves

can be positioned as desired.

Positioning the door shelves

To permit storage of food packages of vari-

ous sizes, the door shelves can be placed at

different heights.

To make these adjustments proceed as fol-

lows:

gradually pull the shelf in the direction of the

arrows until it comes free, then reposition as

required.

Helpful hints and tips

Normal Operating Sounds

• You may hear a faint gurgling and a bub-

bling sound when the refrigerant is pum-

ped through the coils or tubing. This is cor-

rect.

• When the compressor is on, the refrigerant

is being pumped around and you will hear

a whirring sound and a pulsating noise

from the compressor. This is correct.

• The thermic dilatation might cause a sud-

den cracking noise. It is natural, not dan-

gerous physical phenomenon. This is cor-

rect.

• When the compressor switches on or

switches off, you will hear a faint "click" of

the temperature regulator. This is correct.

Hints for energy saving

• Do not open the door frequently or leave it

open longer than absolutely necessary.

• If the ambient temperature is high and the

Temperature Regulator is set to low tem-

perature and the appliance is fully loaded,

the compressor may run continuously,

causing frost or ice on the evaporator. If

this happens, set the Temperature Regu-

lator toward warmer settings to allow au-

tomatic defrosting and so a saving in elec-

tricity consumption.

Hints for fresh food refrigeration

To obtain the best performance:

• do not store warm food or evaporating liq-

uids in the refrigerator

• do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it

has a strong flavour

• position food so that air can circulate freely

around it

Hints for refrigeration

Useful hints:

Meat (all types) : wrap in polythene bags and

place on the glass shelf above the vegetable

drawer.

For safety, store in this way only one or two

days at the most.

Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc..: these

should be covered and may be placed on any

shelf.

Fruit and vegetables: these should be thor-

oughly cleaned and placed in the special

drawer(s) provided.

Butter and cheese: these should be placed

in special airtight containers or wrapped in

aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude

as much air as possible.

Milk bottles: these should have a cap and

should be stored in the bottle rack on the

door.

Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic, if not

packed, must not be kept in the refrigerator.

Care and cleaning

Caution! Unplug the appliance before

carrying out any maintenance operation.

This appliance contains hydrocarbons in

its cooling unit; maintenance and re-

charging must therefore only be carried

out by authorized technicians.

Periodic cleaning

The equipment has to be cleaned regularly:

• clean the inside and accessories with luke-

warm water and some neutral soap.

• regularly check the door seals and wipe

clean to ensure they are clean and free

from debris.

• rinse and dry thoroughly.

Important! Do not pull, move or damage any

pipes and/or cables inside the cabinet.

Never use detergents, abrasive powders,

highly perfumed cleaning products or wax

polishes to clean the interior as this will dam-

age the surface and leave a strong odour.

Clean the condenser (black grill) and the

compressor at the back of the appliance with

a brush or a vacuum cleaner. This operation

will improve the performance of the appli-

ance and save electricity consumption.

Important! Take care of not to damage the

cooling system.

Many proprietary kitchen surface cleaners

contain chemicals that can attack/damage

the plastics used in this appliance. For this

reason it is recommended that the outer cas-

ing of this appliance is only cleaned with

warm water with a little washing-up liquid

added.

After cleaning, reconnect the equipment to

the mains supply.

Defrosting of the refrigerator

Frost is automatically eliminated from the

evaporator of the refrigerator compartment

every time the motor compressor stops, dur-

ing normal use. The defrost water drains out

through a trough into a special container at

the back of the appliance, over the motor

compressor, where it evaporates.

It is important to periodically clean the defrost

water drain hole in the middle of the refriger-

ator compartment channel to prevent the

water overflowing and dripping onto the food

inside. Use the special cleaner provided,

which you will find already inserted into the

drain hole.

Periods of non-operation

When the appliance is not in use for long pe-

riods, take the following precautions:

•

disconnect the appliance from elec-

tricity supply

• remove all food

•

defrost

and clean the appliance and all

accessories

• leave the door/doors ajar to prevent un-

pleasant smells.

If the cabinet will be kept on, ask somebody

to check it once in a while to prevent the food

inside from spoiling in case of a power failure.

Replacing the lamp

1. Disconnect the mains plug from the

mains socket.

2. Remove the screw from the lamp cover.

3. Remove the lamp cover (refer to the illus-

tration).

4. Replace the used lamp with a new lamp

of the same power (the maximum power

is shown on the lamp cover).

5. Install the lamp cover.

6. Tighten the screw to the lamp cover.

7. Connect the mains plug to the mains

socket.

8. Open the door. Make sure that the lamp

comes on.

Closing the door

1. Clean the door gaskets.

2. If necessary, adjust the door. Refer to "In-

stallation".

3. If necessary, replace the defective door

gaskets. Contact the Service Center.

Levelling

When placing the appliance ensure that it

stands level. This can be achieved by two

adjustable feet at the bottom in front (2). If

necessary adjust the feet by removing the

spacer (1).

Location

The appliance should be installed well away

from sources of heat such as radiators, boil-

ers, direct sunlight etc. Ensure that air can

circulate freely around the back of the cabi-

net. To ensure best performance, if the ap-

pliance is positioned below an overhanging

wall unit, the minimum distance between the

top of the cabinet and the wall unit must be

at least 100 mm . Ideally, however, the ap-

pliance should not be positioned below over-

hanging wall units. Accurate levelling is en-

sured by one or more adjustable feet at the

base of the cabinet.

If the cabinet is placed in a corner and the

side with the hinges facing the wall, the dis-

tance between the wall and the cabinet must

be at least 10 mm to allow the door to open

enough so that the shelves can be removed.

Warning! It must be possible to

disconnect the appliance from the mains

power supply; the plug must therefore

be easily accessible after installation.

Door reversibility

Important! To carry out the following

operations, we suggest that this be made

with another person that will keep a firm hold

on the doors of the appliance during the

operations.

To change the opening direction of the door,

do these steps:

1. Remove the plug from the power socket.

2. Tilt back the appliance carefully so that

the compressor cannot touch the floor.

3. Unscrew both adjustable feet.

4. Unscrew the screws of the door bottom

hinge. Remove the hinge. Put over the

pin in the direction of the arrow.

5. Unscrew and install the screw on the op-

posite side.

6. Install the hinge on the opposite side.

7. Screw both adjustable feet.

8. Unscrew both screws on the rear side.

9. Push back the top and lift it from the fix-

ing elements.

10. Unscrew the screws of the door top

hinge.

11. Remove the hinge. Put over the pin in the

direction of the arrow. Install the hinge on

the opposite side.

12. Tighten the hinge.

13. Put the top in position.

14. Pull it forward.

15. Screw both screws on the rear side.

Remove and install the handle

on the

opposite side.

17. Reposition, level the appliance, wait for

at least four hours and then connect it to

the power socket.

Do a final check to make sure that:

• All screws are tightened.

• The door opens and closes correctly.

If the ambient temperature is cold (i.e. in Win-

ter), the gasket may not fit perfectly to the

cabinet. In that case, wait for the natural fit-

ting of the gasket.

In case you do not want to carry out the

above mentioned operations, contact the

nearest After Sales Service Force. The After

Sales Service specialist will carry out the re-

versibility of the doors at your cost.

Electrical connection

Before plugging in, ensure that the voltage

and frequency shown on the rating plate cor-

respond to your domestic power supply.

The appliance must be earthed. The power

supply cable plug is provided with a contact

for this purpose. If the domestic power sup-

ply socket is not earthed, connect the appli-

ance to a separate earth in compliance with

current regulations, consulting a qualified

electrician.

The manufacturer declines all responsibility if

the above safety precautions are not ob-

served.

This appliance complies with the E.E.C. Di-

rectives.

Environmental concerns

The symbol on the product or on its

packaging indicates that this product may

not be treated as household waste. Instead

it should be taken to the appropriate

collection point for the recycling of electrical

and electronic equipment. By ensuring this
