ETP-HYLOC is a hydro-mechanical hub-shaft connection
which, due to its robust design, is ideally suited to work in
difficult environments and heavy operations like steel rolling
mills, process industries etc.
ETP-HYLOC is fast to mount, has good concentricity and can
take high torque and radial loads. Mounting and dismantling is
easily carried out with a hydraulic pump.

ETP-HYLOC is a hydro-mechanical joint, which consists of a
double-walled steel sleeve which encloses a conical moveable
piston. Mounting and dismantling is carried out with a hydraulic
pump. In the flange there are three threaded connections (”ON”,
”Pand ”OFF”) in the radial direction and the same in the axial.
This makes it possible to choose radial or axial connection of
the pump hoses, depending on the build-in situation.

When the piston is moved by the hydraulic pressure from the
pump, the double-walled sleeve expands uniformly against
shaft and hub to form a rigid joint. When dismantling, the piston
is moved in the opposite direction and the joint will loosen.

Apply pressure in the ”ON” and ”P” (not shown)
connections. When mounted no hydraulic pressure
remains. The small conical angle prevents the piston
from releasing.

Apply pressure in the ”OFF” and ”P” (not shown)
connections. ETP-HYLOC returns to its original
measurements and the joint is loose.

Please handle ETP-HYLOC carefully when moving
or mounting/dismantling from the machine as it is a
high precision unit. Always make sure all contact
surfaces are clean and free from impurities.
Should ETP-HYLOC be difficult to handle or extract,
the extra threads in the flange could be used for
ease of handling and/or extraction.
M8/M12/M16 threads, depending on ETP-HYLOC
size.

Never pressurise ETP-HYLOC without hub and shaft
mounted. To pressurise an unmounted ETP-HYLOC
may destroy it.

All accessories that are connected to ETP-HYLOC,
such as pump, connections, hoses and other
accessories must be designed for a working
pressure that is at least equal to the maximum
pressure that is needed for ETP-HYLOC.
Do not use incorrect/faulty accessories when
working with high pressures.
Do not overtighten connections/fittings. It is better to
re-tighten if a slight leakage occurs than to damage
the threads by overtightening.
Protection glasses should be worn
at all times when
mounting/dismantling ETP-HYLOC.

. When delivered, ETP-HYLOC is prepared for
E6.9 connection (where the quick
connections are mounted).
/. If %.16.9% connection is to be made, remove
the steel plugs and mount these in the 3 E6.9
ports.
 #"%'!' The steel plugs must be tightened to
20 Nm using a torque wrench. The hex key is 5 mm.

 Clean the shaft, hub, all interior and exterior
contact surfaces of ETP-HYLOC thoroughly with a
solvent.
!<A2 If there is any grease on these surfaces it
may cause the joint to slip.

 Remove the protective caps of the quick connections.
. Connect ?2AB?;5<@2 of the pump to the "-port.

Before pressurising, make sure that the @A229=9B4@
are fitted into the three ports not in use.
. Close the pressure reducing valve at the pump.

/Pressurise to recommended mounting pressure,
which should be held for approx. 5-10 seconds.
When pressurising, the pressure will increase step by step
because the piston inside ETP-HYLOC moves gradually.

Open the pressure-reducing valve at the pump.
(The pressure in the hoses falls).
Disconnect the hoses and reattach the protective caps
of the quick connections. These must always be fitted to
protect ETP-HYLOC against contamination.
ETP-HYLOC is now ready for operation in the machine.

occur when ETP-HYLOC loosens.

/Pressurise to the same level as the mounting
pressure and keep it applied for at least 10 seconds.

0Observe the pressure gauge. When the pressure
suddenly falls, (the piston inside ETP-HYLOC has
now started to move), continue to pump until the
pressure has become 0 and starts to increase again.
The piston inside ETP-HYLOC has now been moved
to its end position.
Open the pressure-reducing valve at the pump.
(The pressure in the hoses falls).
ETP-HYLOC is now loose from shaft and hub.
Disconnect the hoses and reattach the protective
caps of the quick connections. These must always
be fitted to protect ETP-HYLOC against
contamination.

For fast and secure mounting the pump hoses
are equipped, as standard, with a special high
pressure quick connection chuck (C-02).
Each ETP-HYLOC is delivered with the
corresponding nipple (N-02).

Our pumps are designed for easy usage at the
pressures and volumes that are needed for ETP-HYLOC.
All pumps are of a robust design and CE marked. The motor pump is
especially designed for use with larger sizes of ETP-HYLOC, size < 150
mm, or when mounting/dismantling is to be made frequently. All pumps are
equipped with manometer and hoses (length 3 m). Max. working pressure
is 1 500 bar.

ETP-HYLOC est une bague hydrocanique arbre /moyeu,
robuste par sa conception. Elle est idéale pour travailler dans
des environnements difficiles: laminoirs, process industriels.
Une des applications types est la fixation des arbres de rouleau
de convoyage. ETP-HYLOC est rapide à monter, possède une
bonne concentrici et peut supporter de forts couples et de
fortes charges radiales. Le montage et démontage se font
facilement à l’aide d’une pompe à main.

ETP-HYLOC est une bague de serrage hydrocanique
constituée d’une douille à double paroi en acier renfermant un
piston conique mobile. La flasque comporte 3 raccords filetés
ON », « P » et « OFF ») Les connectiques sont doublées
pour pouvoir choisir un raccordement radial ou axial.

Le déplacement du piston provoque, gce à la pression
hydraulique générée par la pompe, l’expansion uniforme de la
douille à double paroi contre l’arbre et le moyeu, réalisant un
assemblage fret. Lors du montage le piston se place
dans la direction inverse et l’assemblage est li.

Appliquer la pression sur les raccords « ON » et P »
(non représentés) En fonctionnement aucune
pression hydraulique n’existe dans le manchon.
La faible conicité du piston empêche le grippage.
